Everybody knows Michael Bay refuses to put Grimlock in any movie he makes.

Color blind casting is all the rage!! I heard Eddie Murphy is up for ALL the Rollos. Except Rollo Black, who will ironically be played by Jack White. He's also been added to the soundtrack.

The director gig is still up in the air. After Michael Bay quit over the whole "aircraft carrier" fiasco, Matthew Vaugn stepped down, then announced he'd be doing the film, then he got offered the film, then he did some serious script rewrites, before finally re-restepping away from the film.
Then JJ Abrams announced he was directing every movie ever for the next 30 years, including vynsane: the movie and it's sequel Vynsane Into Nachos. But then he realized he had overcommitted a bit and stepped away.
Bryan Singer decided the premise of the film was too gay, even for him.
Joss Whedon stepped in briefly for a week. But he asked David Mamet in to help with the script and they couldn't crack the character of Snigtad properly, so they reluctantly left.

Currently Will Smith is thinking of turning it into another vehicle for his son Jaden, by heavily reworking the entire premise and having Jaden play a super suave Robin Flantdig, Ace of Spies against the evil Vynsane Consortium. Die hard fans are apoplectic. But vyn is excited by the thought of Jeff Bridges playing him in the movie as the head villain.

Well, better Eddie Murphy than Martin Lawrence I guess.

I'm excited to see Steve Guttenberg as Diabolical.
And Jeff Goldblum is an interesting choice for the dual roles of anarky and arnaky. It's too bad Colbert dropped out.
Johnny Depp as Mabs is inspired. He originally came into read for Zaphod and fell in love with the Mabudon.
I don't see Natalie Portman as JJReason though.

What do y'all think of the Ran/Rogue II controversy? I mean, I can understand them cherry picking from different sources and all, but you do it too much and it messes with backstory. It's like what happened with Heavy Duty and Roadblock in GiJoe. First it's one thing, then it's another, then they're brothers. I mean how confusing would it be if Ran and R-Deuce were brothers?! Tell me the entire narrative doesn't just fall apart. It's like finding out Vader and Maul are brothers. People will scream bullshit.

And Portman is only doing JJReason's voice. The character is CGI. She might be doing the MoCap stuff for it though. I don't know. It's too bad really, Portman dressed as a Mountie sounds epicly fappable.
