I'm not that surprised it is taking this long. Design is difficult enough without political involvement. I imagine everyone and their brother from every layer of government wants some sort of input or approval on the new WTC. Every time they change something, it causes a chain reaction and they have to re-look at the design again. Example: They are building that new MGM City Center here in town. At some point, something changed on one of the towers and they didn't catch an error in the foundation. Now, that tower is going to be half the original height. They lost about 200 units.

It took them 18 months to build the Pentagon, but it took 10 years to rennovate that one wedge prior to it being destroyed. It took so long because of bad design, crappy contractors, lead paint, asbestos, and they had to relocate everyone working in that section (which was about 5000 people). I sat in some of the facility manager meetings while I was there. The repairs on the Pentagon were done in a year, but they cut lots of corners.

That was a damn good episode (I love that show).
That was also the first time I saw anyone else that said they should rebuild the towers (I've seen others say that since, but that was the first time I saw it).

The city of New York wanted to prove wrong John Romita Jr's claim that he would draw Spider-Man until the towers were rebuilt.

And they did.

not to get too far off topic but yeah that BULLSHIT show is usually really solid- I like how some episodes don't have much of an "angle" so they just go crazy with odd/funny shit- Elf has been taking episodes out of the public library and I have yet to see an episode that wasn't at LEAST entertaining regardless of the topics being addressed.

And yes the Twin Towers episode kinda laid bare the jug-fuckery that has resulted in things being as they are now- and that was from 2006- have they done a follow-up yet?? If not I have a feeling that it will turn up in the next season :mabs:

I doubt it. I don't think they've ever had an update to an episode.

I was hoping the Ground Zero episode would be on Hulu or Showtime's site, but it isn't. All I found was this 2 minute-ish clip.
