Ghost Lab

most tv sucks these days, but there are some shining examples of good writing, acting, camera work, etc... we call those Deadwood and Arrested Development. Family Guy sucks ass, though...

Moderators: Zero, John Madden, Bob Ross, General Zod, Richard Simmons, Batman

Ghost Lab

Post by Ran »

Anyone watch this piece of shit? It comes on after Dirty Jobs and there wasn't anything else on the limited channels I have in the hotel. These "investigators" try so hard to believe everything they see are ghosts. They have a black guy on their crew that seems to be a skeptic. It appears that he more or less just collecting a paycheck because he is tired of trying to pull these two guys heads out of their asses.

The best line I've seen so far is the guy who lives in a farm house next to an antique mall in Illinois. The wife says she has waken up at night on several occasions and it felt like there was a black shadow over the bed and mentioned that her husband has seen it once. Naturally they interview the husband next. He's an older guy, probably in his mid to late 50s. Looked sort of like a thin Wilford Brimley. He says he woke up one night and thought there was a dark shadow over the bed which meant there was someone in his bedroom. That lead to him dropping this gem, "So I grabbed my nun-chuks and chased him out of the room even though there wasn't anyone there."

Yeah, I've seen it.
And like 99% of everything on these shows, it's all bullshit.

I laughed my ass on one episode of Ghost Lab where they were investigating the ghost of John Wilkes Booth. They claimed to get an EVP they found on an audio level that humans can't hear. They "enhanced" this audio and claimed it said "I'm John Wilkes Booth." All I heard was jumbled interference. Then they jumped around celebrating like it was indisputable proof of ghosts.

sounds like someone needs to read cracked's 'Ghost TV' topic

Just The Facts

1. Every loosely science based channel airs multiple shows where people search for ghosts.
2. They all share one flaw.
3. Ghosts are not fucking real.
Life is short. STUNT IT!

I disagree with points #2 & 3 - These shows have multiple flaws and I've had my own experiences that make me think otherwise.

And that article shouldn't have listed Destination Truth, which is more of a cryptozoology show (even thought they've looked for ghosts a few times). Besides, Destination Truth is a fun show, where I often laugh with the show, not at it. And when they find a real explanation for something they admit it ("It seems likely locals are confusing the ________, which is not uncommon for the area, for the __________."). Other times, they say "We're not going to say we caught evidence of _____________, but we have no clue what this is on this 2 second grainy video."

yeah, i'm by no means convinced by a single line in a cracked topic that ghosts don't exist, just thought it was funny.

i enjoyed watching some of the 'ghost hunters' marathon on halloween, because that's the kind of thing you're supposed to do. but i wouldn't watch it on a regular basis. that said, i think the assertion of the article that they either haven't found anything on any of these shows ever, or it was suppressed if they have, because it would cause worldwide upheaval is true.

My sister and mom sometimes watch Paranormal State, so I occasionally see some of it. It's a lot of people jumping at shadows and pretending to hear sounds. The best part, though, is this old, over-the-top gay guy named Chip Coffey, who is apparently some specialist that they bring in when a case is too tough to crack. The guy is just so fucking ridiculous that it's good for some entertainment value.
Shit. I can't think of a good signature.

The spoof at the beginning of the episode of South Park, where Michael Jackson possesses Ike, was fucking awesome. They scared themselves so much they pissed and shat their pants, and thought it was ectoplasm.
