Re: Dexter's Laboratory and Powerpuff Girls
I used to absolutely love Dexter's Lab when it was on but never got into Powerpuff Girls.
Go ahead.
Go ahead.
Shit. I can't think of a good signature.

I dug both (Powerpuff more than Dexter), but was never a big fan of either.

Re: Dexter's Laboratory and Powerpuff Girls
A'ight, just wondering if there was any point. Both shows are long gone, after all.
I was reminded because yesterday there was nothing on, and I flipped to Boomerang, and there was Dexter's Laboratory. More precisely, "Last But Not Beast," which was supposed to be the final episode in 1998 (before it was picked up a few more times). This is the full-length episode where Dexter's family learns his secret, and they team up with Monkey and the Justice Friends to defeat a huge monster in a frigging hilarious spoof of Voltron and other Japanese shows.
I love the homages in both shows. Both are funny, but have so many references, and not just to kids' stuff. Like Momaw Nadon appearing in an episode of Dexter's Lab, or Mojo Jojo's classic rant straight out of Monty Python ("One shall be the number of Mojo Jojos, and the number of Mojo Jojos shall be one. Two shall not be the number of Mojo Jojos, and three is right out....")
And there's the classic Powerpuff Girls episode where one of them (Blossom, methinks) falls into a pile of clothes and comes out looking like a very not-kiddie character:

Re: Dexter's Laboratory and Powerpuff Girls
I think I've seen every episode of Dexter's Lab. I loved the Justice Friends skit or whatever it was called, with the Captain America, Thor and Hulk characters. I did see a few Powerpuff Girls episodes as well. At the time, I thought it was just okay, but I wouldn't have been caught dead watching it. However, looking back on it, I'll take it any day over the shit that's on Cartoon Network now.
Good. Bad. I'm the guy with the gun.

My daughter has Powerpuff Girls on tv right now. I have only seen the show a couple times. The episode in right now has a pretty cool theme. The dialog is all Beatles songs and lyrics and incorporates album covers, movies, etc. Pretty cool idea.

I've only seen a couple episodes of Powerpuff, but I thought they were pretty clever.

Re: Dexter's Laboratory and Powerpuff Girls
If you've ever doubted the awesomeness of Powerpuff Girls, "Meet the Beat Alls" should convince you. Especially if you're cool enough to get the string of Beatles references that starts about 5:10 in this video and doesn't stop until the credits roll.

I seem to recall seeing that one almost exactly 6 months ago.
