I'm guessing 2020 for the purple guy. You've got to build slowly to a villain with that level of power, or it seems ridiculous in the same universe as Cap or Iron Man. They're going to want the non-comics audiences clamoring to see him up against the heroes.
First appearance, it's implied he's tougher than Loki and he smiles. Second appearance, he speaks and characters talk an awful lot about how badass he is. He also ignores Ronan killing his right-hand man. I'm guessing his third appearance might have him giving a direct order that leads to someone's death.

Just as good the second time.
I caught that there were some cool Easter eggs in the text onscreen during the "lineup" bit. Like Groot listed as being from X (not sure if it's come up recently, but he was "Groot from Planet X" in his early appearances), and Quill is listed as having a cybernetic translator in his neck (plus some of his priors are amusing).
Also, since I wasn't laughing as hard, and there were fewer people to drown him out with laughter, I heard that the fowl one (is this even a spoiler anymore, for purposes of this forum?) had three lines and not just one. And I think I noticed him earlier, too.
Was Nathan Fillion the big blue guy that Groot, um, violently picks the nose of?

I think we can pretty much say it isn't a spoiler anymore.
And if you thought it was, well, after this post it isn't.

Two James Gang songs and a Joe Walsh solo? That compilation is 1/4 Joe Walsh. Not a complaint, just seems odd.
Also, what's the story? This doesn't sound like something his mom put together for him, not with an 80s Queen track.

James Gunn has recently said that the biggest easter egg in Guardians hasn't been found yet.
I think someone might have found it.

Yeah that has potential. I've still never read the 12 cent Captain Marvel series up to & including his death - I don't even know the high points - but I know the series was well enjoyed by Marvel fans & the original graphic novel was a big deal.
