Fleetwood Mac and Steely Dan? Wow. I wouldn't have expected a game like this to give Lindsey Buckingham and Skunk Baxter their proper due. (I would've picked a different Fleetwood Mac song, but I suppose the final solo in that one is rather scorching.)
I can actually see the Los Lobos version of "La Bamba." The Ritchie Valens version, no. But the Los Lobos adds in some Latin guitar that makes it a bit more complex than the original.

A pretty good selection of songs. I seriously was listening to Hotel California tonight and thought that would be good for GH.

I see at least 18 great songs on there, and I'm sure there'll be good ones I've never heard.
The slide guitar parts on "The Joker" will be worth the price alone.

But I fucking hate Paramore.
Seeing Wings on there . . . does this mean we might get some Beatles next time? I still also want to see Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, and a lot more Queen.

The one song I'm always hoping for is American Woman (the real version, not that bastardized Kravitz version).
It just seems like it's be fun to play.

It'd be especially cool if you have to play with the slow intro as well.

"American Woman" is also playable on Rock Band 2.

Looks like there's a lot of crossover songs, actually. I'm not going repost any but, well, you can go do the homework if you really care.

I just noticed a couple from looking at that list. "Livin On A Prayer" and "Eye of the Tiger" are also in Rock Band 2, and "BYOB" has been a downloadable song for Rock Band for a while.

Sometime in the first quarter of '09 we'll be seeing
Guitar Hero: Metallica.

That sounds even less interesting than the Aerosmith version.
They had the World Tour version, or a demo of it, on my campus a week or two ago. It was pretty fun, even though they only had eight songs there.

Fuck "Guitar Hero Metallica" (though I'll probably pick that one up anyway). They're coming out with an AC/DC track pack for "Rock Band 2". That's grabbed my attention.

How long until we get to see "Guitar Hero: Kenny Loggins"?
(Actually, "I'm Alright", "Danger Zone", and "Your Mama Don't Dance" would probably be kinda cool.)

If I never hear ANYTHING that makes me think of "maverick" ever again, it'll be too fucking soon.

Are the downloadable songs the same on all versions? I was looking tonight and there was quite a bit of Eagles, Raconteurs, and Nirvana, along with some Boston and a few others. I got a boner when I saw "No Rain" on the list. And the Joker didn't even make me say that.
I'd kill to see "Folsom Prison Blues." Maybe some more blues stuff--"The Thrill Is Gone" or "Feels Like Rain" or "Lie to Me" would be pretty wicked. Maybe even a couple more underrated female guitarists like Bonnie Raitt or Shannon Curfman or something.

Well, I got my son a PS2 used for his birthday today and played GH II. First time ever playing one of them. I didnt do to badly, I played Mother and got 87% and Heart Shaped box and got 84 %. I was also using the controller as the stroe I got it at didnt have used guitars and I didnt have the cash for a n00b. Is it any easier with the Guitar or the controller?
