Well, it looks like Phil from New York isn't quite as done with Tony as we thought....
I'm betting money the Reaper is coming for Christopher, AJ, Bobby, or some combination of the three.

I was reading how some people felt cheated since that character didn't have to atone for the "death" of a certain other beloved character from a couple seasons ago. Tony's a cold blooded bastard, though, ain't he?

However... The way it was set up, it was a little ambiguous why Tony did it.
Pissed off because he was high as a kite?
Eliminating a possible future snitch?
Driven over the edge by seeing the smashed baby seat?
Or, maybe, he saw it as a mercy killing. I mean, sad to say, there was a very good chance he wouldn't have survived for more than a couple of hours anyway.
I expected Christopher to go down. I actually thought after his little rampage last week, bursting in on whatshisface and yelling about the stuff he's done, then killing him--knowing that his wife is likely in the next room--I thought he'd be in jail.
I think the NYC rivalry is going to play a big role in the ending. I'm not sure if AJ will become Tony's spiritual heir or turn him over to the feds, though. I also doubt everyone will die. It would be a little forced to kill off the entire crew within a few episodes, unless it was a massive hit ordered by Phil Leotardo.

It looks like the gangs will go to war, not something Tony's crew can expect to survive (well, survive maybe, but things won't be the same after).
Phil sending Tony away is one thing, but to tell Little Carmine to fuck off is something else entirely. The message? There's NOTHING Tony can do to get back in good with Phil - it'll be on big time come June 3rd.
I think Chrissy getting back on the drugs/booze is what led Tony to do it, Chux - I think he always saw Chrissy's using as his biggest liability. Once it was completely apparent that he was never going to change, he became expendable. And boy, did it ever make me sick.
My new theory is that Tony might confess to killing Chrissy, after his consciense chews him up a little more about it. He was not dealing with it well at all.

No, people are too dense to understand subtlety, and don't realize that wrapping everything up in a bow would not only be un-realistic, but be contrary to the entirety of the seven seasons that preceded the finale.
In other words, these fucking idiots should forget Sopranos ever existed, and watch Are You Smarter than a Fifth Grader? instead. (And marvel over how incredibly hard the questions are while they're having their dogs lick peanut butter off their collective dicks.)
