The really honestly sad thing about this thread, as it stands, is that my mom's favorite color is purple. :(

Holding off. By my math - and it's hard to tell using my e-reader - I'm about 60 percent done the book. I still haven't watched any of the shows from the first season yet either, though I did peruse the hbo episode guides just to see what they chose to include.

I slacked a bit in my reading recently (watching Breaking Bad became a bit of an obsession), but I'm about a third of the way through A Clash of Kings.

I've still only seen the first episode of season 1 (I'll pick up season 1 next week for sure), and I'm also staying away from the season 2 videos so the book doesn't get spoiled.

That trailer doesn't give anything important away. Feel free to watch it and get a boner.

Even though I'm only halfway through Kings, I picked up Swords and Crows so I don't have to worry about it later...and to have a matching paperback set of the series so far.

I have found that the breaks between certain character's updates have been a bit longer in the 2nd book, leading me to have a bit of trouble keeping up (Arya's story in particular). And trying to look back using the kobo app is a bit of a fuckaround. Maybe his reminder tidbits haven't been as good or something, I'm not sure - but I have actually been wishing for a paper copy. ><

I thought about doing something like a numbering/small recap of each chapter that one could glance at to freshen memories as a reader gets further and further into the series.

I was envisioning different bookmarks, one for each character so you could go review the last page & get refreshed before you start the chapter. I wonder if he wrote each person's story & then broke them up as needed or if he bobbed back & forth the way it reads.

Especially after the "RW"

I won't, that spoiler text makes me afraid - I try not to look at them until I'm done the whole book.

You can come back and read the spoilery bits after. And you'll know what I mean by "after".

King Mugwump had sex with his sister, and then killed everyone else.

Oh, shit, I didn't use spoiler tags.
