I can't help noticing no discussion of the Snyder Cut here.

Personally, I'm in no rush to watch a colorless movie presumably about Supermurderer and Batmurderer I guess murdering people for four hours but it's too dark to tell. I guess I'm happy for everyone who wanted it, but to me the original was a passable movie that made it clear Whedon tried to polish a turd.

I've seen some excited endorsements from people I didn't expect to like it, and been momentarily of the mind I should watch it, and then I remember why I didn't care before.

It's like watching a movie with every deleted scene and alternate take inserted into the movie.

Steppenwolf is much improved, and we actually see Darkseid this time, but many scenes are way too long and dragged out.

Whedon did some things better, like: handling Superman better (giving us the best version of Superman in the DCU), Cutting Flash scenes that belonged in a Flash movie, cutting Cyborg scenes, not because he's racist, but because Ray Fisher isn't very good.

I still think the big problem with the theatrical version is the clash in tone from two very filmmakers.

I'm about 2hrs into it. I don't dislike it at all (I didnt' dislike the first version either honestly, just felt like it was a big time Avengers rip off with Steppenwolf acting & looking like Thanos, the mother boxes acting & looking like infinity stones) but it's overly Snydery. For sure the studio would have trimmed this product into something more suitable for the theater anyhow (I like the slowmo bits with music as much as anyone else, but man they are too frequent & too long during the first 2hrs of this).

The question is this - it's getting good reviews from fans... mainly because they got what they wanted but I digress. Do you give him back the reins & let him do his last 3 movies?

After hearing his plans for them...maybe.
They sound pretty good, but they would probably get really muddy in Snyder's hands.

It felt more epic than the theatrical cut, but I think if you gave Whedon those 4 hours to flesh out the characters and backstory and whatever, his “Snyder Cut” would probably be better than Snyder’s cut.

But yeah, the movie was underwhelming because of the differing styles not meshing at all.

I didn’t dislike it.

Based on the trailer for The Long Halloween party 1, we could have decent replacements for Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill (if they ever decide to fully retire) in Jensen Ackles and Troy Baker.

I definitely have to say I wouldn't mind Snyder dying in a freak toenail cutter accident. Nothing against him as a person, but it's about the only thing that will shut up all the trolls insisting on continuing the Snyderverse.

I personally thought it was a nice change of pace that Shazam didn't slice off everyone's heads in monochromatic slow motion.

I just saw that the Lego Batman Movie 2 was canceled a while back because WB lost the Lego movie rights to Universal.

If Disney and Sony can make Spider-Man movies together these dickholes can make a sequel to the best Batman movie ever.

Just saw a commercial for the new Suicide Squad movie. The thing I found weird about it is that it started with "From JAMES GUNN: Director of the Guardians of the Galaxy Movies". So before they even mentioned Suicide Squad, they mentioned a Marvel movie.

The other options were:
"From the director of Slither and Super (two movies you haven't seen, unless you're a big geek)!"
or
"From the writer of Tromeo & Juliet, Scooby-Doo, and Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed!"

I’m planning on seeing Suicide Squad on Monday, so I’m avoiding the internet and it’s spoiler minefield for the next 48 hours.

I watched The Suicide Squad last night.
No spoilers.
It's pretty good, up there with Shazam as DC's best movie. But it's hard to compare the two, since they're so different in tone.

I think the Guardians movies are better though.

No spoilers.

I also enjoyed it. I didn't realize that was Stallone until I saw his name in the credits.

WB has decided to take a $90 million loss and completely shelve the completed Batgirl movie after some bad test screenings.
