my company just got a 'temporary' salary reduction for the month of April. i fall under the 20% reduction bracket. FML.

The Las Vegas paper has this article with video of the Las Vegas strip shut down. I drove part of Las Vegas Blvd last week just to see it empty. It was weird.

The government needs to step in & help families the way it helped god damned Wall Street. I hope some relief is on the way soon.

I think I'm the only one doing pretty good, at least for now.
Laid off from one job, but still getting paid for 4 weeks, and picking up hours at Target on top of the extra $2/hour they're temporarily paying us.

Working a lot more than normal at Target and the jackholes not taking this shit seriously convinces me its only a matter of time before I get this crud.

The project I'm supposed to run is getting delayed. In order to stay employed, it looks like I'm either going to King Salmon, Alaska or rural Nevada for most of the summer. The Alaska project is supposed to be fairly remote, but in a beautiful area. If I stay in Nevada, I'll be able to come home on weekends. Either way, I'm going to be out in the middle of nowhere.

I think I'm fine with going to either location. But if my posts start getting weird over the summer, it is because I'm a little too socially distant.

Yeah, right.
They were supposed to, but we've yet to see any.

Target was also supposed to open free drive-through testing centers in their parking lots.

That promise was made about a month ago.

We do have a massive sign on the door that says:
"THIS IS NOT A CDC TESTING CENTER."

If there’s one thing I’ve learned from this pandemic rumpus, it’s that comic book secret identities are bullshit.

Everyone is wearing mandatory masks at work now and I have no problem telling everyone apart.

When I was in Korea, I worked for a female Captain. She always in uniform and had her hair up per regulation. After I was there for about a month, I was walking through the store on base on a weekend, and some random woman says "hi" to me. She had long hair, a floppy hat, baggy shirt/shorts, and sunglasses. I thought that was strange because random women usually don' t talk to me. I get back to work on Monday, and that Captain says, "You didn't recognize me when I said 'hi' to you this weekend." After that, the Superman/Batman secret identity thing at least seemed plausible.

Just last weekend I had MTV classic playing in the background while I was doing other stuff. Gwen Stefani "Cool" came on. Towards the end of the song, I glanced up and saw a brunette that looked familiar. I had to go back and watch the video again before I realized it was Gwen Stefani with different color hair in some sort of flashback.

Maybe I identify people by their eyes because I could recognize people wearing full chem gear including gas masks.
