That Endor set was something I passed on because it didn't seem like it was worth the $20. The bunker was the only thing I wanted out if it anyway.

Yeah, it's pretty damn flimsy while putting it together and probably still will be unless I don't mess with it too much. I just intend to have it as a sort of diorama piece, though.jjreason wrote:The bunker does look alright from the front, but that's about all you get out of that set. I remember it being frustrating as shit to put together as well.
According to RS's photo archives it was $15 when it came out. I paid $20 plus shipping, though, since I just wanted it now and that was the cheapest I saw on eBay. Hasbro should just try another $15 line of playsets or background pieces or something, to see how it would go (but it would probably be at least $20 nowadays).Ran wrote:That Endor set was something I passed on because it didn't seem like it was worth the $20. Shit. I can't think of a good signature.

The price for the rod hockey table I mentioned earlier at Target finally dropped to $65. So we bought it today and used a 10% discount card. The kids think it's great.

I forgot to mention but a few days ago I opened up the rest of wave 3 and Stass Allie. I fucking hate those skirts that prevent the Jedi from moving their legs. The rest are fine; I don't know why everyone is bitching about Jodo Kast so much.
Shit. I can't think of a good signature.

Got the rest of the ANH wave. They are all pretty nice. The droid that comes with the Jawa is pretty darn cool.

Oh, I kind of forgot about this thread. Since the last time I posted, I got all of Clone Wars wave 4 as well as those older DVD commemorative sets for the Tartakovsky cartoon (Anakin, Saesee, and a clone in one; Obi-Wan, Cody, and Grievous in the other). The new CW line is quite fun for anyone who likes the show, I would think. The older ones were more statues, even though the new ones don't have as much articulation as the realistic figures. Padmé, for instance, has really thin limbs so it would be pretty much impossible. The Magnaguard isn't as articulated as I hoped; he's about the same as the ROTS one, but he has better accessories and a cooler pose, so there's that.
Shit. I can't think of a good signature.

popped into walmart yesterday on a whim while out at home depot picking up the vanity cabinet and toilet seat for the new bathroom, and found one and only one 'captain america armor' iron man along with a small wall of speed racer hotwheels at $0.75 each! comparing what i already have to what they had left, i only ended up grabbing gray ghost, snake oiler and the GRX. everything else was the machs 4/5/6 and racer x's cars.

Off the top of my head....
Thor-Axine (the barbarian--this one was fucking impossible to find but I can look)
Delila (pink--the Flying Foxes car--only slightly harder to get than Thor)
Kelly someRussianname (yellow with a stylized painting of what looks like a girl holding a candy bar)
Taejo
There are several "race wrecked" and "sandstorm" reissues in Waves 2-3. The Machs 5 and 6 looked nice in both versions. Racer X and the others, not so much.
If you don't have it already, I really dig Mushu Motors from Wave 1 (a classically-styled painting of a samurai over the whole car).
Aside from the aforementioned two shortpacks (I've seen Delila twice and Thor once, and Thor was in kinda beat-up packaging), the only ones I haven't seen are the cars that were exclusive to two-packs and racetracks (all color variants, though the "Desert Snake Oiler Street Car" did come out in the two-pack before the regular version on a card) or the four (?) exclusive to various Target multipacks.

taejo, musha motors would be cool, if you come across them. are there any pics online of the race-wrecked and sandstorms? are the mach 5 and 6 really worth it in either or both versions?

Re: So, what toys did you buy or get this week?
I was going to pass on the variations of the Machs, but when I saw them, had to get them. (Truth be told, though, I doubt I'd have paid $3 for any of them, but $1 was worth it.) It's basically airbrushing yellow streaks on the "Desert Rally Mach 5" and similar black streaks on the "Race Wrecked" Machs 5 and 6. (They don't look wrecked at all, but the effect is nice against the stark black, methinks.)
I'll try to find pics aside from tiny, low-quality eBay pics, but there don't seem to be many people caring about these at all.

Re: So, what toys did you buy or get this week?
I caved today and bought my first Mighty Muggs figure.
I saw the TRU exclusive Punisher yesterday and passed on it, but went back today and picked it up.
It's a cool little piece of overpriced plastic.
There a a few Star Wars ones I'd like, but at $11-12 bucks a pop, I kinda doubt it...except maybe Lando.
