TV on DVD

most tv sucks these days, but there are some shining examples of good writing, acting, camera work, etc... we call those Deadwood and Arrested Development. Family Guy sucks ass, though...

Moderators: Zero, John Madden, Bob Ross, General Zod, Richard Simmons, Batman

Awwww FUUUUUCK, I SO did not make it up!!!!
Really, http://www.showcase.ca/trailerparkboys/ Check out the preview clips or whatever... they run the show up here, so I've seen it...
Really, it is WAY too funny... don't read too much of the "background" material, it's not really the way it should be....
I SWEAR if you check it out you'll love it.. it's not like kevin spencer or anything like that, it's total fuckin genius, filmed on videotape...
It's filmed out east, in and around Halifax....
PLEASE, follow the link and don't stop til you've checked out a clip

It's not that, Carl ol' buddy. It's this damn dial up modem I use. Downloading anything takes HOURS. Which I don't have.

So based on all your stellar recomendations, I picked up ALIAS season 1. Holy shit, what a cool show. Dig them cliff-hanger endings! Dig them skimpy outfits! I'm only up thru episode 6, but I think I'm in love. No, not with Sidney Bristow. I'm talking about Jenny, the reporter guy's assistant. She's HOT! Sarah Shahi is name in real life. She was a Dallas Cowboy cheerleader and a swimsuit model. Hot hot hot!

Does anybody watch this? My friend was right, if you dig 24, you'll dig this.

I feel as if we're not communicating effectively.

I just finished watching Season 1 of Alias. Trippy. What a cliff hanger! Now I face a dilemma. Season 3 starts in a few weeks on regular TV. But Season 2 doesn't hit DVD until mid December. Do i watch season 3 without having watched any of two and then play catch up in a couple months? Or do I wait until 3 hits DVD also?

And for you fans out there? Which is your fave Sydney disguise from season 1? I personally liked the red halter top and skimpy denim shorts with a blond wig. Niiiice. [:)]

So what shows do you want to see on DVD? here are some I'd buy...

FLASH John Wesley Shipp. Alex Desert. That one British chick from Max Headroom (EDIT:Oh yeah, Amanda Pays). In the wake of 1989 Batmania, The Scarlett Speedster made it to CBS for a couple seasons. Unfortunately, at $1 million an episode CBS couldn't afford to keep it up. A groovy way to recoup expenses would be sweet ass season sets!

Batman. NANANANANANANANANANANANANANA...BATMAN! Holy Episodic Cliff Hangers, Batman! Easy, Robin ol' chum, kitsch is right at home on DVD!

Hulk hmmmmmmm...I seem to be on a Super Hero kick. Just whistle that melancholy piano riff that ended each show and then let's move along.

Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends D'oh! Maybe I should come back later when I don't have Super folks on the brain...

The Hulk movies (Return of, Trial of, and Death of) are all on DVD now, and I understand a box set is forthcoming of the episodes. Unfortunately, it's a "best of" dealio, but at least two or three discs worth of episodes that some group of fans voted on.

Two words:

Quantum Leap.

Where the hell is this? I'd definitely buy the first couple of seasons. I might even consider the later seasons.

Oooooooh, boy!

I heard from a buddy of mine that works at WB they are trying to do a Flash TV show like Smallville. Teen speedster copes with bad guys and high school angst. He's trying to get a job on it. Maybe if it does well, it will generate interest in the old series enough to slap in out on DVD.

Speaking of Smallville, I broke down and bought Season 1. I dig Superboy. I love all the little in-jokes, like Jonathan Kent humming along to the theme from Dukes of Hazzard on his radio. Lana is hot. I don't get how Clark is conflicted on whether he wants to tap that. If I had a superpower it'd be mind control. Then I could make Kristen Kruek dress up in a tool belt, a hard hat, work boots and nothing else and then have her play with my monkey wrench...

After racking my brain for like a month for a series that wasn't super hero related i came up with...

That 70's Show because it consistently makes milk come out my nose. Even when I'm not drinking milk...
