They teased that the villain for the new ASM series is a classic villain who hasn’t been seen for seven years. Curious, I went back and looked at who the villains Spidey was fighting in 2017 were. In the main Amazing book, there was the big Clone Conspiracy crossover. The Jackal has shown up since then, most recently in the new Spec Spider-Men book. The other big storyline was Norman Osborn coming back. And he’s obviously been around more recently than seven years ago.
Then I looked at the second volume of Spectacular Spidey. Peter revealed his identity to J Jonah around then, so JJ became his ‘guy in the chair’ sorta. The villain for that series was The Tinkerer. Given that the new series is someone sending other villains like Rhino to fight Spidey, it’s a good assumption Phineas is upgrading villains and sending them out. So that’s my guess.

  1. Mary Jane gains super-powers, only to reveal self to be a clone of the Green Goblin
  1. Aunt May becomes Venom and tries to eat my brains, then serve them to me in her cookies
  1. I got five new costumes
  1. I became a monkey for a little bit
That's all I can remember for the time-being. Fill me in on the stuff I can't remember, please. Or maybe don't - I don't know if I want to know what happened to me.
Given a long enough timeline…everything becomes true.
