I read those books as a kid. Never saw the movie.
Just made myself sad because I read hem probably 30+ years ago. I'm old and can't remember much about the plot.

One of the bloggers over at CBR just mentioned the book series a few weeks ago. It brought up a lot of discussion.
It's been 30+ years. The taint of one crappy animated movie has worn off, Hollywood.

Based on the reference to a poorly received animated film, I’m pretty sure this was Chronicles of Prydian.
Sort of related, but I’ve been wanting some live action Xanth movies forever as well.
Except the last time they adapted one of my favorite books from my youth, we got Ender’s Game and I’m still salty about it.
