Ouch.

So, occasionally, I’ll find a listing error on comicbookrealm’s website(like an issue is listed twice under two different names) and make a forum post over there to bring it to their attention. While I was in the forums, I read someone’s offhanded comment about the current Immortal Hulk series. So I looked it up.

WHAT THE WHAT??! The first dozen or so issues?? Noice.

Haha. So one of the side effects of buying lots of comics, is accidentally buying multiple copies of books when you’re not keeping track of what you have vs what you’re missing. As such, when I was buying DCNu52 shit, I grabbed multiple copies of Earth 2 issues. Whoopsie doodles.

Now, with all this talk of a new Black Superman movie, I went back and looked at Val-Zod’s first appearances. Earth 2 issues 19 and 25 are both shooting up. I ‘accidentally’ have 3 copies of each. Zip zop!

I just got a copy of Starslayer #2 (Rocketeer's first appearance) for $11 shipped on ebay.
Not a perfect copy, but worth the price. A decent placeholder (if I ever decide to buy a better copy).

Man $11 including shipping is a luxury - I can't get anything shipped to canada for less than $30 these days it seems.

One of the series that I wasn’t getting monthly as it came out was Jason Aaron’s Thor:God of Thunder series. When they introduced Jane Foster Thor, I started hunting down the back issues of Thor:GoT and it took me a couple years, but I finally managed to get a full run. Thank goodness I didn’t wait.
First appearances of Gor the God Butcher, Knull the symbiote God, Dario Agger, and Jane’s first cameo are the highlights of that series’ run.

Unfortunately, since i pieced it together slapdash, it’s in several different places, and I haven't had a chance to collect it together and enjoy reading it all the way through yet.

Finished the next batch of adds. It was the “new” stuff I bought between 2013 and when Secret Wars ended everything in 2015. 2,800 books worth around $13k.

Highlights are
All New Marvel Now Point One. First Sam Alexander Nova.
Amazing Spidey 4. First Cindy Moon.
Avenging Spidey. First Carol as Captain Marvel.
Darth Vader 3. First Dr Aphra, BT-1, and 000.
Edge of Spider-Verse 2. Spider-Gwen.
Hawkeye’s 2012 series.
Ms Marvel 1. The first issue is a lot, but the reprints of it are ridiculous.
And lastly, I mentioned the Thor stuff above. Jane’s first solo issue of Thor is also up there.

Only one more batch of books to add from my notebooks.

I sold my Thor God of Thunder run for $500. Probably a little low, but I got them for cover price & I figured just under $20 an issue was good enough (plus the guy did a trade for me that wound up in my favor not too long ago).

Once the deal was done & the books were gone, I realized that I had broken up a big long run of Thor though - I was complete all the way back to the end of Volume one, through heroes Reborn & Return all the way through Aaron. I still have all the Jane Thor stuff including a fancy Fiona Staples variant to one of her #1s, but it does hurt a little.

Doing the last batch and came across a Batman Prestige oneshot, Batman:Ego. Up until at least August of last year, it was valued at cover price, but its jumped up to $75 for no reason I can discern. Darwyn Cook? Something movie related?

These days, when graded books are king, they can jump for cover only. Allow me to introduce you to Detective Comics 880.

Darth Vader #3, Dr Aphra's first appearance, is $100?

The 4th printing is $130, due to a tiny print run, I assume.

Probably. But I feel like that’s a very niche market for a few people who insist on owning 2nd-7th printings of books.
When I was a kid 2nd prints were like red-headed stepchildren.
