And that movie is the sole reason I can't watch anything with Chris Tucker.
But what about Friday nigga?!

Also, that Guardians of the Galaxy looks like a pile of shit. I don't read comics but it looks like a campy, cheesy, dumb fucking movie. Sorry guys...

Cap 2 brought in $96M opening weekend. And positive word of mouth should lead to relatively low drop-off for the coming weeks. By the end of the week, it will have made more than any other movie released this year, besides the awesome Lego Movie. It's early in the season, but that sets a high bar for the rest of the films on the list.

Halfway thru the list this year.
Cap's in the lead. It's about $30k short of knocking LEGO off the top spot this year.
Both X-Men and Spidey are very close to the $200M benchmark.
Godzilla did very well and is in the fifth spot.
Those four films are all Marvel movies. (what? I'm counting Godzilla! He exists in the Marvel U! Dum Dum Dugan totally led a task force specifically to deal with Godzilla. It counts. I'm counting it.)

There haven't been any Battleship/Lone Ranger sized turds this year. Edge of Tomorrow is about the closest to being a disappointment and it's still a decent sci-if flick that did moderate business.

I see Jupiter Ascending got pushed back. That trailer looked atrocious. It's like the Wachowskis are spoofing the Wachowskis. It wasn't on the list but I almost had it on there.

I didn't realize Hercules was a Brett Ratner monstrosity until a couple weeks ago. Ew.
Transformers is...Transformers. Except Grimlock's in it.
TMNT looks worse with every trailer I see. It's a tough call on how nostalgia for the property will affect Box Office.
GotG looks more awesome with every trailer I see.
And Apes looks decent. Should crack $100M

2014 was a bad year for Hollywood. The 5 biggest budget films for 2015 will be sequels.

$300,000,000 for the new James Bond? Seriously? That's just ludicrous and risking a LOT.

I think it's 2 movies back to back isn't it?
If not, that's crazy.

So, American Sniper just overtook Hunger Games III as the no. 1 movie of 2014. That's kind of a cop out because other than a handful of theaters getting the movie in the final week of the year so that it could be eligible for Oscar noms, the movie didn't get released until this year and did its massive success entirely in this year.

And aside from Bradley Cooper's performance, the flick was just OK.

Well, the movie it toppled from the top spot was only half a movie that people got duped into watching.

Basically 3rd thru 5th should've been 1st thru 3rd.
