Tonight's Transformers featured Spike playing football against Grimlock.
In reality, this would not have ended well.

Re: HUB
Don't insult Robin. Spike was a fucking tool. Robin was at least useful cannon fodder who occasionally punched people. As a kid, I was the weirdo who actually liked Scooter, Bumblebee, Wheelie, Snarf, and the Copper Kid, and even I fucking hated Spike.
In the comics, Sparkplug was mostly the same (though a bit more realistic and grounded, and he ran an auto shop). His son was Buster, who was a high school junior or senior. Later on, when Hasbro officially made Fortress Maximus's head be Spike, they introduced an older Witwicky son who'd been away at college. Spike later saved Earth singlehandedly (okay, with Fort Max) from Galvatron appeared to be the last survivor of the Ark re-crashing on Earth, and died shortly afterward (yes, no shit, Spike died in the comics) in the Generation 2 comic, when Megatron was rebuilt by Cobra to be far more powerful and completely destroyed Fort Max.
I don't think the name "Witwicky" ever appeared in the cartoon.
I was going to link to issue #1 of the GIJoe comic so you could compare it. It used to be on Hasbro's site. They've moved all that stuff to hubworld.com, and I haven't been able to find the online comics at all, if they even made the transition. Cobra did not fuck around, even in the first issue.

Yes, action wise, Robin was useful. I meant Spike's dialog sounds very similar to some of the stuff Robin says.
And if you didn't have kids, I'd question your sexuality for liking Scooter. I had to look up who Wheelie was. I remembered the name, but that's about it.

Re: HUB
GIJoe: Renegades rocks. Nice update, lots of homages to the original, but definitely its own thing. I recommend it. Though it's weird to root for Duke to beat Flint.
Transformers: Prime does not. It's not even over, and I can tell it blows. It's funny; they cast Cullen and Welker, and it sucks. But what's really odd, all the Decepticon parts are really well done, and anything involving the Autobots is shit, and when the humans are involved, it's super-duper double shit.

Re: HUB
Finally saw Renegades. I'm not sure how many I've missed, but I saw 2 episodes...first they fight the Bio-viper inside the fenced area in Springfield. Apparently Ripcord died in the episode before, but from the way they were talking, I could see him coming back. The next episode was where Major Blood chases them down. The intro had sort of an A Team theme, so I guess that's why it is called "Renegades". Its better than the 80s version, but, I'm not sure how much I like it. There is something odd about the animation. Mostly the faces. 6 Joes getting chased by Flint & Cobra could get old.

Re: HUB
You only missed one ep. I wouldn't be surprised if it's on OnDemand within a week or two.
The show is good. Damned good. I plan to drive to Hasbro's offices and shoot all their pet dogs in front of their window until they make that awesome thing that Major Bludd was driving.
