most tv sucks these days, but there are some shining examples of good writing, acting, camera work, etc... we call those Deadwood and Arrested Development. Family Guy sucks ass, though...

anyone else ever watch this? jdr3 gave me his season 1 boxed set (it's actually a 'academy awards for your consideration 2008' box, as he's in the academy and has all sorts of cool shit thereby). i finally got around to watching it, and it's pretty fuckin' awesome.

it's got bruce campbell in it! michael weston - the main character, a likable but shady spy who's been blacklisted - is like a morally ambiguous macguyver, making improvised devices of all natures (usually explosive, but sometimes not) on the cheap because he's stranded in miami with all assets tied up by the government. he takes on 'friend in need' jobs as they come with the help of his former-IRA girlfriend, fiona (gabriel anwar), and washed-out spy buddy sam (campbell).

i've only seen the one season, but it could get rather formulaic if they don't mix it up a bit. they did so in the first season, but it could get repetitive if they don't keep on their toes. they did a good job of weaving the greater over-arching plot of who blacklisted him through the more episodic 'friend in need' job stories, but that will only take you so far.
Life is short. STUNT IT!
