12:30 AM on Sunday morning, and I'm in the process of burning two Guitar Hero mix CDs for the car:
#1:
Steve Miller: The Joker
Nirvana: About a Girl (Unplugged)
Bon Jovi: Livin' on a Prayer
Blind Melon: No Rain
Ozzy: Crazy Train
Smashing Pumpkins: Today
Beasties: No Sleep Till Brooklyn
Coldplay: Shiver
Wings: Band on the Run
Survivor: Eye of the Tiger
Lenny Kravitz: Are You Gonna Go My Way
Pat Benatar: Heartbreaker
Foo Fighters: Everlong
Stone Roses: Love Spreads
REM: The One I Love
Jane's Addiction: Mountain Song
Linkin Park: What I've Done
No Doubt: Spiderwebs
Allman Bros: Ramblin' Man
#2:
Guess Who: American Woman (with the cool-ass slow intro cut from the game)
Michael Jackson: Beat It
Creedence: Up Around the Bend
Blondie: One Way or Another
Oasis: Some Might Say
Eagles: Hotel California
Bruce: My Lucky Day
System of a Down: BYOB (complete with f-bombs removed from the radio version used in the game)
Los Lobos: La Bamba (with the cool-ass flamenco outro cut from the game)
Lynyrd Skynyrd: Sweet Home Alabama (not the live version, but who cares?)
Sublime: Santeria
Jimmy Eat World: The Middle
Billy Idol: Rebel Yell
Steely Dan: Do It Again
Bob Seger: Hollywood Nights
Doors: Love Me Two Times
Jimi: The Wind Cries Mary
Fleetwood Mac: Go Your Own Way
Willie: On the Road Again (live--as far as I know, it's only been recorded live, and this is the original)
Didn't quite fit:
Korn: Freak on a Leash
Van Halen: Hot for Teacher
Cult: Love Removal Machine
Dream Theater: Pull Me Under (2007 remix--not sure if that's the one in the game or not)
Mars Volta: L'via L'viazquez (full version is almost thirteen fucking minutes)
Just thought I'd share.

Re: Nerd alert
They play "Hot for Teacher" way too much on the radio in LA. They play way too much Roth-era VH. Swear to God, I've heard "Jamie's Crying" on six different stations at one time!
And never ever any Hagar VH. I don't even think there's any point in telling you no Cherone VH.

Ok.
Semi-related, I recently played a few cuts from VH3 on my iPod, Chux, and I thought of you. Seriouslyy, I did. I like some of those tunes and the guitars sound great.

Re: Nerd alert
I wonder if the supposed tracks for the second Cherone album will ever see the light of day? Or will they be like the quasi-mythical hard rock album that was replaced by Music from the Elder, where, even when they have a chance to release tracks from it, they don't?

Re: Nerd alert
It will probably be more like Carnival of Souls...with the equally imaginative album cover.

Re: Nerd alert
Carnival of Souls was released pretty damned quickly, though.
