uh, y'know, the sounds that sound good together... sometimes... and sometimes sounds like the disgusting "squish squish" sound Slicker's mom makes whenever she walks

Yeah, but, uh, Yes and Earth Wind & Fire above G'n'F'n'R? Who, along with Aerosmith, aren't even ranked? The Stones at #20? I'd rather be unranked than be ranked on a list that fucked up.

Since the poll was based on "Songs and Song Writing, Technical Ability, Innovation, Live Performance, Consistency vs. longevity", putting Yes ahead of Guns & Roses makes since because Yes has been around for 40 years and are still on tour. I hear they put on an awesome show. Plus, Yes never put out The Spaghetti Incident.

Oh come on now...GNR is releasing the first single from the decade long awaited Chinese Democracy on the next installment of Rock Band. And spaghetti incident has it's moments in nostalgia to obscure punk. And really the Stones should be up higher, it's technically amazing that they still can stand up on a stage (robots are getting so life like these days). Metallica, back in the day I would have said they deserved to be up high, but suing your fans should knock you down to about beyond the bottom of the list.
STP, they were great, but come on, to be that high up on the list it's gotta prove that something is wrong with it. I mean each of these bands have a place, but to put them in such a numbered list, whose subjective opinion decides. You can't really go off of sales to some extent, because some people bought albums/tickets and such and then thought the shit sucked
"He's a guy who gets up at six o'clock in the morning regardless of what time it is."
I would have thought the Stones would have been higher, too.
Agree with you on Metallica also. And the last few albums kind of sucked.
They gave G n' R low scores in Innovation, Live Performance, and Consistency. And rightfully so. Innovation & Consistency...well, they had 2 albums plus both Use Your Illusion albums between '87 and '91. A cover album a few years later isn't really innovative. Then a few more years after that, Axl Rose starts a new album and it takes 9 years before a song is released. I never got to see them live, but I heard that they wouldn't show up on stage until Axl was "ready". Not a great way to treat the fans that paid to see you.
Anyone else surprised that Soundgarden is #22? They are ahead of a lot of other good big name bands like Aerosmith, Pearl Jam, Bruce Springsteen, and AC/DC. (Nothing against Soundgarden.)
Funny that Black Eyed Peas made the list, but Kiss didn't.

That's disgusting and, in a nutshell, everything that is wrong with these stupid lists. All they are is another excuse to honk the meat horns of Radiohead, Coldplay and The Whitestripes.
And since I'm not a fan of the Stones, I think I can fairly say that its an absolute travesty that they aren't in AT LEAST the top 3.
I accept the top 4 they chose, but I'm biased because Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin and Jimi Hendrix are some of my favorite. The Beatles should just be expected to be at the top of these lists.
Looking further down the list, I find it hard to believe that the Dixie Chicks are better than David Bowie. And why is Black Sabbath so low, especially compared to where Living Color is?
They also tweaked their own rules. It says that they did not consider solo acts like Elvis or Michael Jackson, but they let in guys if they had named back-up bands like David Bowie, Frank Zappa, Bruce Springsteen, James Brown, and Isaac Hayes. If that is the case, shouldn't Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers be on the list?
Also, why do these lists always say "Rock" when they let in Soul, Disco, Metal, Reggae, and Pop?
Obviously, this list is bound to spark disagreement. But The Dixie Chicks shouldn't be on that list. I don't know what the fuck they are even doing on there. I don't care how many albums they sold, they fucking suck. They are nothing but a trio of blonde inbred hicks who deepthroated their way into a record deal.
And Motorhead should not be number 94. That is insanity. They should at least, AT LEAST be in the top 30.
And Black Eyed Peas shouldn't be on that list either. What the? Fergie? Ugh. Nast-a-last.
But it was very refreshing to see Soundgarden and The Carpenters on the list. And fuck yes on Jethro Tull. And a double fuck yes for Van Halen at number 5. Major fuck yes. And I am in complete agreement with Led Zeppelin being number one. Usually, Elvis is number one on these retarded lists. And I hate that thieving fucker.
And where the fuck is GWAR? Just kidding.
But where is Hall & Oates? The Smashing Pumpkins? Quiet Riot? Electric Light Orchestra? T-REX? Bad Company? Foghat? Pantera? Pavement?
And I like how they didn't consider solo artists for this project. That's like making a list of top 100 porn stars but not including blondes. Because they left out Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly, Dick Dale, Bill Haley, Carl Perkins, Bo Diddley, Cat Stevens, Ted Nugent, and Eddie Cochran.
But I am glad that Meatloaf isn't on that list. Very glad. And thank God Creed or Nickelback isn't on there.

The Bee Gees are in the top 20 because Barry Gibb unleashes the fury. In the summer of 1978, Barry Gibb lynched a drifter with his own intestines just to get an erection.
