Well, it's just, you know, listen, it's like...I didn't want to make the boxy characters, you know? Think about it, 30 feet in the air in the real world, just boxes, you know and it'd just look more fake, you know? And by adding more doo-dads, you know, stuff on the...stuff. Stuff on the robots, more car parts, and...you know you can just make it look more real.

New Ravage and Megatron pics...
Ravage looks like a Nexu.
Megatron is looking better. Perhaps by the fourth or fifth film, he'll look proper.

Revenge of the Fallen Filmmakers: Sequel Rooted In Mythology
Revenge of the Fallen Filmmakers: Sequel Rooted In Mythology; Listened to Fans
The Transformers Collectors' Club has interviewed some people from the Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen film including Director Michael Bay, Producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Tyrese Gibson, and Hasbro, Inc. Chief Executive Office Brian Goldner.
According to TCC, Mr. di Bonaventura and Mr. Bay stated multiple times that the film is rooted within the mythology.
The TCC has paraphased Mr. Bay as saying that he has "worked very closely with the writers in order to dive more deeply into the mythology."
He continues:
We really looked for elements that have never been explored and we discovered some story lines that we wanted to elaborate...[and] delve much deeper into the personalities of the robots. There is much, much more robot interaction in this film. This film has many more personal moments but will also appeal to the hardcore fans as it can be wicked at times.
Mr. Bay also heavily emphasized that he listened to Transformers fan.
"Fans should know that I really want to satisfy them by making an even better movie than the first one," he says, according to TCC.
