RII: No, but I'm guessing that, aside from the great lyricists they threw on here (likely just to piss people off and look edgy), it'd be a pretty standard list. I can guarantee you Springsteen, Dylan, Hank Sr, Cash, Willie, probably a couple of weird Gen-X choices like Vedder or Cornell, some totally random old blues guy who may be a forebear to everything else but didn't write exceptionally good lyrics (Robert Johnson or Son House), etc.

Taupin may have written "We Built This City" (the lyrics of which aren't as bad as the song itself, which is still not as bad as the guys at Blender have a hard-on for making it seem), but he also wrote "Levon" and "Candle in the Wind" and a few hundred other great Elton John tunes, as well as "These Dreams" for Heart, and "Last Stand in Open Country" for Willie Nelson. (If a songwriter who's as great as Willie covers you, you're a fucking genius.) And the lyrics to "Your Song" that they were so intent on bashing? Hey, guys, once you finish up middle school and stop listening to the fucking Fall Out Boy, you might recognize how great that song really is. Fucktards.
