My wife pointed out that, about three weeks ago, a couple if days apart, we both came down with something that involved heavy dry coughing and generally feeling like shit for three days. The kids were unaffected.

We have no way to know if we got it then or not.

yeah, the amount of unreported/untested cases is going to be the big question mark of this entire thing. we'll never get a truly accurate account, unless there is some test devised that can check if you, at one time, built up antibodies against the virus.

Up to this point, we had the option of working from home or going into the office. Just got a message saying that the Nevada offices will work from home, but can go into the office only if we need something.

my office has been on WFH since last Monday through the end of the month, but just got an update on friday that it was extended through 4/15.

then we got an email that the office, in compliance with the governor of CT's mandate of closing all non-essentials, was going to be closed to all employees starting tomorrow.

the whole "stay home" thing is important, but until there is some higher authority tells the businesses that continue to send us bills, those that can't work from home are going to be forced to not "stay home". the entire economy should be put on pause for the next month - no expectation of bills/mortgage being paid, like they did in Italy. all the corporations are scrambling to get their mitts in the stimulus pockets already, before they've even really been affected by the workforce staying out of public.

Selfish question here: are y'all restocking toys at this point?

I haven't been out and about for several days. Just curious. Target is the only place I've heard of anyone finding the new TF Rung figure, which is kinda a holy item for fans of the IDW series. But that was before this went down.

I work at a grocery distribution center for WallyMart.

I’m seeing some fat paychecks because of this crisis.

The day care center my wife works at furloughed her today. We can survive on my paycheck so it isn't a big problem.

Still stressful. Good luck with the modified situation.

It could be worse. All those casinos on the Strip laid a lot of people off. Shutting down the Las Vegas Strip and Downtown Las Vegas is unprecedented.

We still have people in every department. Our trucks have been heavier with grocery and paper products than they normally are, of course, but everything else is still coming in.

my wife's theater is closed indefinitely, and most of her bookkeeping clients are too small to continue to operate, so she's essentially out of work for the foreseeable future. my salary does not cover everything. i've been waiting to hear about a possible promotion for six months now, but at this point i don't see how it will happen, with, y'know... all of this. shit's going to be tight for a while (which, in retrospect, is basically a phrase i keep saying, feeling, thinking all the time). for now, my job is still going full-speed ahead, but at a certain point there will be a dip in corporate relocation due to this (i mean, an even greater one) and it will be hard to justify certain aspects of the business.
