In-laws here last night and today. My parents fly in tomorrow. I'm just ready for the decorations to come down.

By the way, today is also Rickey Henderson's birthday. I think I'd rather celebrate his birthday than continue with some of the current traditions.

Family drama on both sides here, but everyone is getting counseling only through the phone. We never go anywhere and rarely if ever see anyone else on the 25th. Presents & assembly of same, brunch, reading, shows or movies, video games, a nap & frozen pizza for supper. I love it.

No drama for me. It is mostly just putting up with my mother-in-law's stories she heard from other people about menial bullshit. Then tomorrow dealing with my father and whatever topic he chooses to rant about.

It's 2022. I am finally home from the frigid prairies & wouldn't you know it - we are completely snowed in here, unable to drive to see anyone. The house is full of treats & booze that other people were meant to consume. Things could be worse. Hope everyone has a safe & healthy Christmas!

No plans for us for Christmas. I had a half day of work on Thursday, and off Friday and Monday. Basically I've been playing video games and going through other stuff with movies on in the background. So far I've watched the Bills game, parts of Ghostbusters, Willie Wonka, Last Crusade, and Raiders of the Lost Ark.

I think my in-laws are coming in the first week of January. My parents are in the middle of a trip to Antarctica. They have been texting me pictures of penguins. I think they come back Sunday or Monday. They will probably come by later next week.

Not celebrating Christmas is such a great stress reducer. No worries about finding gifts for everybody. No worries about how to pay for it. No worries about a grand seven course meal.
You can hang out with family(or not)and eat pizza. It’s great.

it is bitter cold here, but no snow or ice. my mom and my two aunts and uncles came for Xmas Eve. we had a build-your-own taco/burrito bar and played fun "candy cane olympics" games.

we had a quiet Xmas morning just the three of us, then my mom and father-in-law came for early dinner. now we're about to go to my brother-in-law's.

We're staying home again this year. My younger daughter Mario Party, so I'm sure that's going to take some time later today. I think all 4 of us got 3 sets of Legos each.

My in-laws are coming next week, and I'll go see my mother early next month.

Merry Christmas. Yesterday was quiet - I felt like shit, cleaned the house & did some baking (no kidding) in preparation for what was supposed to be a family gathering today (the 26th). Then I tested positive for Covid - first time ever. Today my kids & grandbaby still came & kept their distance. We did presents & I cooked the food that everyone was supposed to eat & bundled it up to give out as leftovers. Thomas 3d printed parts for a ROTJ Luke Lightsaber, assembled it & painted it. It's fucking bad ass. Pic to follow.

So just a weird update - the whole Covid tastebud thing is absolutely true & very bizarre. I was able to taste strawberry when I woke up, but I had a couple of donut holes with coffee & it's literally just the sensation of having the items in your mouth, devoid entirely of taste. Not muted - absent. I also feel dehydrated no matter how much I drink, but the symptoms aren't killing me or anything. Still be happy once it's over with.
