Just thought of this after a friend posted an article on Facebook about Aloha (which looks like it might be that rare Cameron Crowe movie to not at least have an awesome soundtrack).

Emma Stone plays a character who's 1/4 Chinese and 1/4 native Hawaiian. Also 1/4 Swedish. So she's at least 1/2 Asian, possibly 3/4, depending on what the unaccounted-for quarter is.

The fuck? My kids are (ethnically) 1/4 Chinese and 3/4 cracker. Maybe--MAYBE 1/32 or less Cherokee or Lumbee mixed in on the cracker side. And Emma Stone looks like a fucking member of ABBA beside either of them.

Haley Joel Osment should've been Anakin. Right age, and he could act. And, in retrospect, he looks more like Hayden.

Whatever age Hayden would have been for TPM (16? 17? 18?) would have been plenty young enough to make the missing mom part work and would have made the romance at least quasi-plausible, along with the podrace & the final battle.
