Anyone seen it cheap?

I figured I wouldn't hijack the "Cheap DVD Finds" thread for this. And I know Rollo had a similar request for Speed Racer recently in that thread. Anything you're looking for that just seems to cost too much, but, logically, should be in a $5 bin (or $3 at Big Lots) somewhere?

I've been looking for The Conspirator for a few days. Finishing up Assassination Vacation by the incredible Sarah Vowell (see what I did there?) and it'd be cool to watch a movie on the same subject (and I really doubt there's a movie about Zaphod time-traveling back to 1881 to speak to Charles Guiteau by way of Chester A. Arthur's asshole). Not on TV (at least within the next week, which is as far as my cable guide goes). Not available for Prime streaming from Amazon (and $3.99 when I don't have a cable to connect the computer to the TV ain't worth it). Not in any of the local libraries that are nearby and check out movies for free (though two that are about 20-30 minutes away and charge $1.50 per night have it, but factor in the drive and fee and it's not worth it).

This just really seems like one that Big Lots might have, but I haven't seen it there. If I can find it for less than $6, I may as well buy it. Otherwise, I guess it's "wait until it's on HBO" time.

I'm going to watch The Conspirator here in a few days, after I finish reading Manhunt: The 12 Day Search for Lincoln's Killer.

It was pretty cheap at Best Buy a few weeks ago, something like $10 DVD/$12 Blu-Ray, but it is far too new to be in the $5 section right now.

But if all you want is the movie itself, I may have a copy of said film, and may be able to get you a copy of that film.

Tell that to the copy of Michael Jackson: This Is It (2-disc version) I found for my daughter for Christmas at Big Lots for $5. (They did come out around the same time, right?)

Seriously, it's too bad there's no movie about Giteau. From the relatively brief stuff in Assassination Vacation, I learned more about him than in my entire life... and he sounds like he'd make a pretty intriguing case study in film or paper.

This Is It was released in theaters in October 2009 and on home video in January 2010.
The Conspirator was released in theaters in April 2011 and on home video in August 2011.

Dang, I didn't realize The Conspriator had that impressive of a cast.
James McAvoy
Robin Wright
Justin Long
Evan Rachel Wood
Tom Wilkinson
Norman Reedus
Alexis Bledel
Kevin Kline
Stephen Root
Colm Meaney

Huh. I was thinking it was an early 2010 release for some reason. That makes more sense.... And, if it's that recent, the chances of it being on HBO in the next few months are decent.

Two movies I haven't seen in a long while and keep thinking they should be in the $5 bin. Backdraft and The Fugitive.

WHAT'S UP YOUR ASS, OPIE CUNNINGHAM??
Your movies too goddamn good for the $5 bin? Huh?! HUH!?!?

Best Buy had The Fugitive for $3.99 the week before Thanksgiving.

Curiously, I took Assassination Vacation back today, and picked up Manhunt. And, while walking to the checkout desk, saw Christopher Lee's Charlemagne (the so-called heavy metal album) and checked them both out.
