Tosses the original storyline completely out the window, but who cares? This looks fucking amazing, and re-imagining MK as a police drama/fight movie is a bitching idea. Plus, it has motherfucking Spawn in it.

As far as movies based on video games go, Mortal Kombat wasn't bad. This one actually looks better.

Mortal Kombat was actually quite good, given that it was a goofy action movie. It didn't take itself too seriously, and was very impressive visually. The less said about that pice of carp sequel, the better.
But, yeah, this one looks like it will kick the shit out of the original.
