the limey

movies are cool. here is a place to talk about how cool they are. or maybe how much they suck, sometimes. like that fucking piece of shit 'mac and me'. worst fucking movie ever, a two-hour ad for fucking coca-cola.

the limey

anyone else seen this? it's one of my favorites, rich characters, great writing, beautiful cinematography, interesting editing choices, great soundtrack. i think it's steven soderbergh's best work ever, which is funny since it's one of his earlier pieces. interestingly enough, in researching, i found out it was written by the same guy who wrote 'dark city' which adds a whole new level for my appreciation of the flick. amazingly, lem dobbs, the writer, hasn't done anything else since 'the score' in 2001.

if you haven't seen it, i highly recommend it. it's got chancellor valorum in it!

they utilize interspersed scenes from one of terrence stamp's films from the 60's, 'poor cow', as a sort of backstory, tying it in as an unofficial sequel.

stamp, luis guzman, and peter fonda all give awesome performances.

also, stamp's cockney slang is the inspiration for how my wife and i refer to things we don't want julia to know we're talking about instead of spelling it out. we came up with our own cockney slang terms for things like 'calculus' (calculus = math rhymes with 'bath').

second level cockney slang? wow you guys are deceptive.
I have never read any of your posts, but from what I can learn I should say that for people who like the kind of posts you deliver, they are just the kind of posts such people like.
