while out with Seven tonight...

...I had an odd experience.
Seven, myself, and some friends went to Pechanga resort and casino to see the stand-up comedian Lisa Lampanelli who was playing there.
We saw the show and Lisa was wonderfully racist. Seven and myself laughed a lot, but mostly at the shitty opening comics.
Anywho, after the show ended, Seven and our friend went to go fetch some beverages and our other friend went to make a phone call. And I went outside where everyone was waiting for their car from the valet.
There were tons of people out there waiting. There were like a dozen middle-aged guys with an inebriated bar slut on their arm. And there was also a group of like slut girls all standing around wobbling and barely managing to stand in their high heeled shoes that they could hardly walk in. And there was an elderly couple standing around waiting who looked like they were from Minnesota. And they looked pissed. Like they lost their rent money gambling.
Everybody standing around waiting for their car just looked really pathetic. Including myself. I was just standing there by myself with my arms at my side just staring off into the middle distance with all these people standing and waiting around me with a look of regret on their face.
And at the casino, they constantly have music playing. Inside and outside the casino. And they play all kinds of music. They play 80's, 90's, and current shit too.
But as I was standing there amidst all the weary half-drunk gamblers and sluts, you know what fucking song started playing? Fucking "Dust in the Wind" by Kansas.
What better time to play an introspective and depressing song? And keep in mind that Pechanga resort and casino is located in the middle of fucking nowhere. There's nothing but hills and darkness everywhere. It was just fucking weird.
Eventually, my friend came back from making her phone call and the both of us just stood there thinking about our lives.
It was just one of those weird moments.
All I could think of was this kid Garritt I used to know. I just remember him telling me that this one time, we was driving from L.A. to San Francisco and he stopped in like a diner or something. And he went into the bathroom to take a shit. And there was a guy in the stall next to him who was also trying to take a shit. And then the song "Kokomo" by the Beach Boys started playing on the bathroom radio.
Garritt said that it was one of the darkest moments in his life.
