Daredevil proposed TV show: this is fucking awesome!

Looks like in the 80s there was supposed to be a Daredevil cartoon. Only they were going to add his seeing eye dog: Lightning the Super-Dog.

And if the posters (who seem credible) are right, the proposal also had Daredevil driving (!!!) a van with a cannon that would fire him and Lightning into action.

Is that not the single fucking coolest idea EVER? A blind dude with super agility, ninja training, and heightened senses that more than make up for his blindness and he drives and has a motherfucking super-powered German shepherd that shoots him out of a cannon?

I think we have a new winner.

Daredevil shooting out of a cannon would be something, a good way to distance him from Spiderman (which in my mind is pretty much what DD is when you get right down to it)

Yes, for you younguns, that is supposed to be Daredevil. In the TV movie Trial of the Incredible Hulk, the producers were afraid using that name with a red costume might offend religious viewers. I'm serious.

The movie was also notable for a role by Gimli (or Sallah, if you prefer) as a much smaller version of the Kingpin.

Surprisingly, horrid visuals aside, the movie was pretty damned good.

I plan to run for president in 2012 with the platform that I will make this cartoon happen. I will win in a landslide.

I had an idea for a live-action DD show. It would actually skew heavily towards being a really kick ass law drama like The Good Wife or Boston Legal and initially be sparse on the vigilante/super-hero bit. Probably like 85/15 to begin with. But you would slowly build in the mythology of Daredevil as the show went along.

Another no-brainer for a weekly live-action show is Spider-Man. When you think about the number of supporting characters in the Spidey books since day one, you could almost do an ensemble show and not have Spidey show up. Think about it. Peter. Gwen. Harry. MJ. Flash. Liz. Betty. And that's just the kids. Having May and Jonah, and not entirely homicidal versions of Norman, Dr. Connors and even Otto(the film version was a good start). And the cast just grows from there.
