Breaking Bad

most tv sucks these days, but there are some shining examples of good writing, acting, camera work, etc... we call those Deadwood and Arrested Development. Family Guy sucks ass, though...

Breaking Bad

Post by Rollo Tomassi »

Has anyone checked this little gem of a TV show out? It's on AMC. It's a bout a high school science teacher who finds out he has aggressive lung cancer and decides to use his superior chem skills to cook near perfect meth, so he can provide his family some cheddar when he dies.

I recommend it.

This show is so good, I don't think TWO threads about are enough.
I'm going to start a third. And maybe a fourth, depending on how the third one does.

Since I don't have cable anymore, I haven't seen anything past Season 2.

On the plane trip home I managed to watch a couple 'on demand' episodes. Until I got home and checked on imdb, I didn't realize they were the two most recent episodes. I know the series is Walter's slow descent into badassery, but I didn't know how fucking hardcore he's become. The entire scene where he ordered Mike's guys all hit simultaneously was fucked up. What a shitty way to go, being a human pincushion full of shiv holes. Jaesus.

Just finishing season 2. I won't be chiming in until I'm much further along, but just letting you know I'm working at it. Very entertaining so far.

Oh man, I really envy you fuckers, getting to watch the entire series for the first time.
There are so many amazing "Holy shit!" moments that I'd love to relive.

Maybe I can hit myself on the head really hard, get amnesia and start all over.

I'm so used to marathoning the seasons that this week to week shit is killing me.
Only 4 episodes left...

That's how I feel with The Walking Dead.

I haven't bothered to watch Breaking Bad because of the people that I've noticed watching it. They sickeningly fawn over it and they way they do it makes me not give two fucks about it. It just seems like the "hip and cool" series to watch.

Normally I'd agree, but I think this is one time where the hype is legit.

It builds slowly in the first few episodes, but once the ball gets rolling...

That's true of a lot of shows (see: TrueBlood, MadMen, etc) While those people ARE probably all douchers, it doesn't change the fact the show is great.

You should check it out. We don't want this turning into another anarky/Firefly situation.

Now I may have to. There aren't many things TV/movie wise that we disagree on.

If you've got netflix, all it'll cost you is time.

That's how I'm doing it. I haven't used Netflix much myself, but I'm finding it very convenient actually.

I just read that there's gonna be a spinoff prequel. I don't watch the show. Or rather I haven't watched it yet. I also haven't read this thread, but I believe the character of Saul will be the lead. IIRC it's gonna be an hour long one off. Though you can bet your bottom dollar they're hoping it rates high and they can get a season or two out of it.
I have never read any of your posts, but from what I can learn I should say that for people who like the kind of posts you deliver, they are just the kind of posts such people like.

I'm only just now watching it for the first time, thanks to Netflix - I'm almost done with season two. I don't really want or know any spoilers for the show (other than he just becomes a huge badass), so I'll see myself out of this thread for a while, I suppose.
Shit. I can't think of a good signature.
