phpbb is really close to a final release of the 3.0 version of phpbb forum, and i figured i'd upgrade to the release candidate to check it out. what do you think?

It'll take some getting used to, but very cool.

Are you going to tweak the colors a bit (especially the "read" and "unread" icons)?

i'll probably wait until they release the final version before i tweak anything, but yeah, they're a bit too alike.

I can't believe this but I agree with Shithead Flornbi.

It's got some neat features, but as of this moment I'm not a fan. I'll get there, but it'll take a minute.

most likely there's a setting to switch them back to the left side, just haven't found it yet.

my most fervent hope is that the new version is more impregnable to fuckin' spammers. that's my main motivation for the change.

really? why? i think the styles are a bit overwhelming, but i can look into hacking it myself or looking for one that's a bit cooler looking.

EDIT: there's an updated version of the original style that you can switch to in your profile. it's called "subsilver 2" as opposed to "prosilver". it has the avatars on the left, and colors and images that look like the old version, but with the new features.

Okay, "subsilver2" fixed it- the way it looked first kinda looked like ASS

At least it works with win98, tho there's a pretty noticeable lag on my poor stupid PC- can't WAIT for the new machine later this week

Liking the crazy amount of features on this new shit tho, pretty slick

Much better. I'm not a fan of big changes online. I hate the adjustment period to the new stuff.
And I really hated the avatars on the right side.
I'm happy now.

Also, the forums seem slow right today.

The font's kind of gay, but it'll be alright.
