PS3's starting to show up again at retail....

I've been stopping at a few shops this past week, and have been seeing PS3s again. No deals yet (of course) but I could have purchased them at both WalMart (60GB only) and TRU (both 20 and 60GB machines available).

Obviously they were held back on purpose, it's too late for these to be Christmas returns.

I've decided I'm getting one, but not until I have a new TV... and not until Metal Gear Solid 4 is getting ready to come out.

My boss/friend ( the one who got me the Wii) bought one on impulse when they came out. He was in the right place at the right time. he never opened it and finally decided to return it last week because he could find better uses for $600. That's just way too much money for me for a game console.

I agree, they've got to go down at least one notch.

Has the X-Box 360 dropped in price yet? I think they're $499 up here, but they also offer a lot of different packages, Microsoft does, with different games and controllers and doodads and shit. Tough to keep it straight.

659.99 at Walmart today - down from 697.96. I'm also noticing that right now, there are approximately the same number of PS3 games on the rack as there are PS2 games. The upgrade is officially in full swing.

I'm still holding off until I have a new 1080 tv, which won't be for another year yet anyhow.

I decided last week to get my wife a Wii for her first Mother's Day. She's been going on about it since she had a chance to play one late last year. I finally found one at Best Buy on Wednesday.

Why do I bring this up? Because I must've seen about a hundred PS3's in my search for a Wii. Not that it matters. At that price, they'll be rotting soon enough.

okay, seriously? my wife is really cool and all, but that's fuckin' awesome.

however, i bet my wife would want to get one if she ever played one - i'm sure the controls would suit her better. she always complained about too many buttons and such.
