I normally wouldn't link to a custom job, particularly those weird "parallel universe" bullshits you get on HisStank and sites like that, but
Jesus. Tapdancing. That is fucking crazy awesome. It's insane that random dudes can do this, but Hasbro can't or won't.

Holy shit.
Hasbro could have completely fucked G.I.Joe in its second year if Hama hadn't convinced them what a fucktarded idea that was.

I read that earlier and laughed. I'm sure if Hama hadn't pointed out the obvious, somebody else at Hasbro would've come to that conclusion at some point. It's a no-brainer.

Finally found a Target with the 3-packs on clearance. Only thing is, they had just the Mouse/Airborne/Snake Eyes set, which isn't conducive to "buy every damned one." I got one extra, because the Mouse body is a good one, and it has plenty of weapons. I'll literally buy every Cobra 3-pack I can find for $14 or less until I judge that I have too many.

Picked up one each of DG Cobra Commander 1, DG Cobra Trooper Officer 1, and the first two Retaliation 3-packs in Roanoke, giving me one extra of each.
Still no luck on those damned Series 2 DG figures (aside from the Duke and SE I found ages ago).

If I stop by a DG, I'll look for them. Which ones are you looking for?

Mostly orange Storm Shadow and the blue Cobra Trooper. DG Cobra Commander is a useless almost straight re-release of several earlier CC figures, and Shipwreck is nothing special in the new color scheme.
Truth be told, I'm going to grab every extra of both the blue Trooper and black Officer that I can find. They're an easy way to army-build at just slightly more than half the price of new figures.
I had considered before but not looked carefully into it, but 3-pack Red Ninja and Kamakura are easy stand-ins for the Ninja Force characters Slice and Nunchuk. They don't even need any real tweaking if you're cool with minor differences, though a couple of paint modifications and maybe new webgear for Kamakura would help even more.
The first pic doesn't indicate, but the figure includes nunchuka already.

I figured out the Slice/Red Ninja thing because of the mask. I didn't know about Nunchuk. There are probably a number of other green cammo bodies you can use for him with Kamakura's head. The Rock N' Roll from the comic pack comes has a similar pattern, but I think he has his sleeves rolled up. I actually took that RnR head and ammo belts and put it on a green movie it trooper body. He looks more modern now.
The Wolverine movie line of toys uses the current GI Joe red ninja mold for their ninja figure. Assuming you want to pay $10 for a figure that doesn't come with many accessories.

May be easier to find on clearance than the actual Red Ninja. What color is he?
Edit: he looks good, but I guess Hasbro's $5.99 MSRP is off. Have you seen him? How many points of articulation has he got?
And another edit: Definitely 5 POA. Couldn't zoom on TRU's site on the phone, but can on the laptop. Not worth army building, but maybe as a single background ninja with a slightly different getup....

This fucker started as an experiment at vintage Firefly 2, but methinks he's someone else. He needs a name, though. Definitely a Cobra-aligned ninja heavy gunner.
Edit: removed pic. Not sure how to resize on phone yet, and WAY too big.

Orange Stormshadow for $4.99.

I need to take some pictures of my kit-bashed figures. Besides RnR, I have Alpine, Flint, Lt Falcon, Footloose, and Shipwreck.
Why is Hasbro all of a sudden pumping out 5 point figures?

I found a DG today that has orange SS and two blue Cobra troopers. I would have picked them up, but we're a bit short on cash this week.

I saw that. It pretty much is baseless--Jetfire is far enough from the Robotech Valkyrie here that it should be a non-issue. Some folks are speculating the company that has the American Robotech license (which, apparently, the Japanese owner hates) is actually maneuvering to get Hasbro to buy them out.
I'm just a bit miffed this means that damned Bludgeon will be all the tougher to find now.

I didn't think it was an actual TF in the SDCC exclusive, just a SkyStriker mold with Skyfire colors. Shows how closely I follow exclusives.
