I know they literally just came out, but DC’s Absolute books are already taking off.

Kahhori from What If...? Season 2, made her first appearance in comics this week.
Of Marvel decides to do anything more with her, it could be a future hidden gem.

When I was double checking my Black Panther list on cbrealm, I clicked on the Annual for the 2005 series and saw it was going for $50. I guess it’s the first appearance of Shuri as BP.

Found this ad on the back cover of a May 1980 DC comic.
People don’t know this, but there was a time when OJ was famous for stuff OTHER than being a multiple murderer. Lol.

West Coast Avengers 7 from the 2019 series is valued at $150, and looking at ebay even higher. Why, you ask? Jeff the Land Shark.

Red Hood #1 came out Wednesday. Later that day, someone was shot. Afterwards, the Transgender writer of Red Hood #1 said some things on social media. DC subsequently fired the writer, cancelled the series, and offered refunds to LCS for all their unsold copies.

So the only copies that are out there are the few copies that were purchased on day one before the fracas. Seeing how Red Hood doesn’t have a sizeable fan base, that number is pretty low. And thus copies of the issue are already $40-50 online.

Ultimate Spider-Man #1 (the current series) is listed at $70 for the main cover.
The series had been good, but $70?

This week's Absolute Batman #15 is being snatched up because it's the first appearance of that version of Joker.
I could've played the speculation game, but I skipped it.
Oh well.

What’s the opposite of Hidden Gems? Since I’ve been reading Daredevil a lot the past couple weeks, I looked at the older books on cbrealm. For some reason, much of Frank Miller’s run has been dropping in price. Still up there, but apart from a couple key issues, they’ve all got red arrows on them.
Issue 183 is a key book I’ve never filled in my collection. Maybe $20 is a reasonable amount to get the first ever meeting between DD and Castle.

Superman 680 and 712. They have Krypto the dog on the cover(s). They’re from when the series reverted back from the title ‘Adventures of Superman’ but before it was cancelled with issue 714 for the 2011 NU52 relaunch. I haven’t looked at other Superman titles like Action from around the same time frame to see if other Krypto-centric covers are also high.

A book that surprisingly isn’t higher is Web of Spider-Man 36, the first appearance of Tombstone. I think $25 is downright insulting for one of Spidey’s most memorable foes. But what do I know?
