Everyone else in the theater stared at me like I was crazy.

"Is that a new type of birthing pod?"
"YES!!!"
[Shows the birthing pod.]
"OH HELL YES!!!!"
"I think I call call him..."
"omigod omigod omigod omigod"
"Adam."
"WOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!"

Yeah, when they showed the pod, I said 'Holy shit, Adam Warlock!!!"
And then when she said the name, it basically confirmed it and I had a huge shit eating grin on my face.

I'm wondering if that's a set up for the two Avengers movies, or if Gunn will do something with him in the third GotG movie.

I feel shame that I didn't recognize Krugarr, the Sorceror Supreme of the future, in the Ravagers stinger at the end. I was like 'who's the red alien??'
Also, where's Vance Astro??? C'mon people! That would've blown people's minds. Especially if he was carrying the Shield.

I think it's been verified that Adam Warlock will not be in Infinity War. He could show up in Avengers 4, but my money is on Volume 3.
Adam Warlock was in earlier drafts of Volume 2, but James Gunn felt he was one too many characters and the plot didn't suffer without him, so he begrudgingly cut him (Gunn loves Adam Warlock).

Vance Astro would have just confused the general public if he had the shield.

I'll admit, I not only didn't recognize Krugarr, but didn't remember who Stakar was, and it didn't click that Ving Rhames was Charlie-27.

Finally saw it. I didn't think it got off to a great start, but the second half more than made up for it. Interesting they credited Abnett & Lanning, I didn't see any other creators named (but I honestly have no idea who wrote/drew their first appearances).

Gene Colan. And I think Arnold Drake. I'm 100% sure on Colan. About 80-90% sure about Drake.
But Abnett and Lanning get credit because this is "their" version of the team, that spun out of Annihilation.

Edit. And for fun, the creative teams for each of the main Guardians.

Star-Lord created by Steve Englehart and Steve Gan in Marvel Preview 4 (1976)
Gamora created by Jim Starlin in Strange Tales 180 (1975). I have this issue!
Drax created by Mike Friedrich and Jim Starlin in Iron Man 55 (1973)
Rocket created by Bill Mantlo and Kieth Giffen in Marvel Preview 7 (1976)
Groot created by The Man and The King in Tales To Astonish 13 (1960). Although to be fair, what we think of as Groot was mostly added by Abnett and Lanning. Lee and King made a typical comic monster called Monarch from Planet X.

I have to admit I am not as up on Cosmic Marvel as you guys, so the Ayesha/Birthing Pod stinger didn't connect with me until I read the explanations later and was like, oh, yeah, duh!

I went and saw it in IMAX 3D with my kids for a second time.

I would be perfectly happy with James Gunn making a new Guardians movie every year. Simply to see what songs he would use.

Vyn hasn't posted in a while because he had a heart attack jacking it to that video.

Granted, who among us didn't?

James Gunn is super gung ho about Mark Hamill being in Guardians 3. And Mark Hamill seems to be down for it as well.
