Winter Classic - Sabres vs. Penguins

most tv sucks these days, but there are some shining examples of good writing, acting, camera work, etc... we call those Deadwood and Arrested Development. Family Guy sucks ass, though...

The blood goes from the goal line all the way to center ice.
Why make a fake Sportscenter for this clip?

Why do I call it fake? Two reasons:
1. Sportscenter is spelled Sportscentre.
2. They have no idea what hockey is on Sportscenter.

Sportscentre is the TSN version. It used to be called Sportsdesk, then one day out of thin air we got ESPNified.

You Canadians are up to something.
I'm sure of it.
Just not sure what it is.

I just read a rumor that Sundin may waive his No Trade Clause and will soon be wearing the Winged Wheel on his chest very soon.

Think it's possible?
He is 37 years old now, kind of a youngster by Wings trade standards.

That would be pretty amazing if they got Sundin.

The Red Wings have dropped 6 in a row.
:frus:
I haven't seen them this lifeless in a very long time.

Is this what it's like to be a Leafs fan?

They're even harder to bear when you pay $100+ to be there.

Their special teams blow and their defense around the net is terrible. You could drive a school bus through the shooting lanes they're leaving open.

BTW, I got XM Radio over the weekend and about pissed myself with joy when I found the NHL channels.

Also, I forgot to post it Thursday when I found it, but the 2009 Winter Classic looks like it could be the Wings and Hawks at Soldier Field. Real hockey called and said this is a great fucking idea!

I have the NHL channel on most of the day, but I flip over to 150 (Comedy) and the rock stations (41,46,47,49, and 59).

Are all the game channels located right after the "Home Ice" talk channel? It looked like it, but it was early afternoon and since none were on yet I couldn't confirm that.

XM 204 is the talk channel until the games start. A lot of the time, 204 will switch over to a game. The game channels are on 205 and up, but sometimes they use a channel in the 170s, which is usually baseball. If your model has the sports ticker, you can program your teams in, and it will tell you the scores and what channel they are on. I think 205 (or 206) gives you the broadcast schedule.

Edit: Use this link for the NHL schedule: http://www.xmradio.com/nhl/index.xmc

Trade deadline day!

Buffalo traded Brian Campbell to San Jose for Bernier and a 1st round pick. Some people will bash this. I like it. Campbell is more like a winger playing D. He gets burned all the time in his own zone and wants too much to resign in Buffalo. Some fool will overpay him this offseason.

I'm suprised Huet was traded to Washington. And only for a 2nd round pick. Maybe the Habs don't realize the Hurricanes and Ducks both needed 2 goalies to win the Cup.

That move above all others surprised me today. Carey Price is good, but how is he in the playoffs? Oh, that's right. He's an enexperienced rookie. See ya, Habs.

I'm not sure what to think of Hossa going to Pittsburgh. On the one hand, its Sid/Hossa/Roberts (when he come back) on the top line and then Malkin/Malone/Sykora on the second. I beg you to find me a better top 6.

On the other hand, they traded away big chunks of their future today. Further, good luck signing everyone this summer.

Everyone was saying Hossa was going to go to Montreal or Ottawa all day, then Pittsburgh steps in at the last minute. They gave up an awful lot to get him, but I don't know how they can afford to resign all of those young players: Staal, Malkin, Fleury, etc.

I still don't understand some of the moves. The Caps never traded away Johnson and Kolzig used his no trade clause. They also picked up Federov, which made sense if they are trying to win the Southeast.

And why would Minnesota trade for Chris Simon?

Jiří Fischer is supposed to be playing in a charity hockey game with police/medics to raise funds for medical equipment. The game is supposed to be in Saginaw.
