Wait, I was wrong on the distribution, then; here are pictures of the characters with their droid legs. Both the Spacetrooper and sandstorm Luke come with R5's head, and the Jawa and 327th Corps clone have R5's body, but I thought Obi-Wan had it (guess not). Anyway, R2-L6 is from AOTC, at least according to behind the scenes photos. I've never seen him in the movie and Wookieepedia says he's on Tatooine but I think he's on Coruscant.

The kids and I put together the R4 and R2-L6. It is a good thing he was from AOTC because if he was from TPM, some jackass would have associated him as being Darth Maul's droid based on the color scheme.

This weekend I might have a new EU story for you guys on a Sandtrooper. My 3 year old seemed concerned yesterday that he was dirty.

When is Toy Fair? Isn't that when they reveal most of the year's new stuff?

It starts this upcoming Sunday, I think. They don't reveal all of it but a fair chunk. They tend to show the first half of the year's stuff there, and the rest at Comic-Con in July. I wouldn't expect many new figures aside from the ROTJ wave and (maybe) the AOTC wave, along with new CW stuff and comic packs and whatnot. I assume the Turbo Tank will be there as they showed the AT-TE at last year's Toy Fair. And then they always have that Powerpoint slideshow that shows some more new stuff; that's usually more informative than what they have on display.

I think it passed already. Steve had pics up on the main page. There was no SW stuff there from Hasbro he claimed. I saw a bunch on Actionfigs.com also

Nigga, you crazy. As Diabolical said, that was the New York Comic-Con. They didn't even have real product, just packages and cardboard shit. The SW presence at Toy Fair is gonna be huge compared to that shit.

I don't want to sound racist, but I'll say this here.

I have not bought Talon Karrde because he is black.

Despite my wanting a Talon Karrde figure more than just about anything (aside from a Corran Horn figure and a Teek figure and a goddamn dais for my Jabba), I can't pay $13 for him. I already have a perfectly decent Thrawn; this one doesn't look like that much of an improvement.

And $13 for a black Talon Karrde is just too much. You wouldn't pay $13 for a black Abraham Lincoln or a white Barack Obama, would you? (Okay, a bunch of morons will soon be paying for a black Ripcord figure, but they're retarded.)

Simply put, Talon Karrde is a white guy. There is nothing in the books to describe him as being black, despite most black characters having some clear reference in the description to a darker skin tone.

In fact, creator Timothy Zahn was used for the first official photograph (much as Michael Stackpole is Corran Horn and Shannon Baksa is Mara Jade).

Dark Horse Comics gave him a very slightly darker skin tone, but he looked like the same guy with a nice tan.

And here's the figure we got.

I mean, come the hell on! This guy isn't Talon Karrde. This is fucking Bishop from X-Men wearing his clothes. He's six shades blacker than Ice-T, for God's sake!

His skin and coat look like the same color and on my screen they look greenish-brown.

And he's got super crazy eyes.

He looks Hispanic, as he always has to me. Granted, I'd only seen some reference pictures, hadn't seen that Zahn picture, and never read any comics with him in there. My main mental image of the guy was this picture, from The New Essential Guide to Characters:

And I think the figure looks like that. I have certainly never seen a black man who looked anything like that figure.

That figure looks like carp. Almost looks like someone's baby sister swallowed it and pooped it out.
