Jurassic Park 3D - It was really decent 3D and I didn't notice that they touched up anything. The CGI is kinda dated but it still amazes me how awesome it holds up seeing as it was THE cutting edge 20 years ago. I will always love this movie so I may be a bit biased.

I watched Jurassic Park a few weeks ago on DVD. I think the CG holds up pretty damn well. At times it looks even better than a bunch of current flicks.

Flashdance was on. I'd never seen it before. I mean, I've seen that part with the water, or parodies of it. But never the rest of the film.
Holy shit, Jennifer Beals was fuckin' hot back then. And fellating lobster.

Re: What have you watched lately?
Saw a few movies this weekend. We had free Encore, plus, I found it hard to get off the couch because of the antibiotics I am taking. The antibiotics listed 7 side effects, I managed to get 4 of them, including being tired.
Blue Hawaii - Elvis' mother was played by Angela Landsbury, who was basically a southern belle-racist. Also saw Jailhouse Rock and some of King Creole. They play Elvis movies every night on one channel. Elvis plays an aspiring singer in both of Jailhouse Rock and King Creole. He wasn't a singer in Blue Hawaii, but his friends were musicians which have him plenty of opportunities to sing. As far as I could tell, King Creole had the least singing in it of the three.
Saw most of Magnificent Seven. Still a classic. Also watched Full Metal Jacket (again). I end up watching at least part of it every time it is on.
There is probably something I'm forgetting.

John Dies At The End - via Netflix. Checked it out because I've heard great things about it.
Not bad. Overall its fun and odd, but it seems to lose a cohesive narrative at times and doesn't totally seem to know what kind of film it wants to be.

You've heard Eddie Murphy's bit about Elvis' movies, right? "They let him be in movies, and he couldn't act! They said, 'Fuck it, let him sing all his dialogue!'"Ran wrote:Blue Hawaii - Elvis' mother was played by Angela Landsbury, who was basically a southern belle-racist. Re: What have you watched lately?
Zoom. Only saw part of this dumb superhero movie with Tim Allen. Yikes.
Primeval. A giant killer crocodile eats a bunch of C-list actors in Burundi. Orlando Jones says probably the most offensive line ever uttered in a film. I started laughing.
Four Weddings and a Funeral. Andie McDowell ain't that hot, Hugh. My suspension of disbelief only gets me so far.
Mud. Two kids find Matt McConaughy hiding from the law on an island and help him build a boat to escape. This is one of those films that gets overhyped at Film Festivals. The two kid actors were pretty good. Everyone else was okay. Anarky will want to rent it and masturbate because Agent VanAllen is in it, briefly.

Re: What have you watched lately?
Watched most of The Longest Day and parts of a couple other war movies today. Something occurred to me. Movies like LOTR and the Star Wars prequels with their CGI armies make those old war movies much more impressive with the number of extras they must have used. There were a couple shots in The Longest day where you can see down the beach in Normandy. As far as you could see there were vehicles and troops moving on the beach.

Last time I heard that, I laughed so hard I fell down the stairs. Had to call out for Jesus and everything.
