Got part two of the new Avengers storyline. The few pages of Jack of Hearts and AntMan were more interesting than any of that She-Hulk crap. I tend to dislike how artists are using fewer panels per page to tell a story these days. back in the day, comics were chock full of story. Read an old issue of Amazing Spider-Man or something. They could tell in one book, what it now takes some guys four issues to tell the same story, because they insist on using "splash pages" for moments that really aren't all that splashy.

Okay, Supreme Power #4 in the books. Very interesting, nice intro to Nighthawk. This series kicks more balls than David Beckham.

Read lots of Marvels on my trip for Jodi's surgery.

Surfer #3 - keeps me interested. Only about as much as Namor's series, though, which is better than fair itself. Im thinking things will pick up in this book, even though it's not bad now.

Avengers #73 and 74. Not loving the art. Not really loving Hawkeye. Not loving the inconsistency with which Johns is treating Banner and Banner's Hulk. Banner would never say "I'm much smarter than you.", and there's no explanation as to how the Hulk goes from a talking Hulk into the monster Hulk. Every comic is someone's first comic, Fuckface.

FF - Authorotative Action 3 and 4. I really like it.

Cap 20 - weird ending to a fairly good story. Rushed.

Iron Man - 2nd issue of Tony as the Sec. of Defense. Potential here, I love Tony Stark way more than I love Iron Man so this story is up my alley.

Hulk 62 - gonna be a good wrap to this. It'll be sad when the conspiracy is exposed and they're on to the next thing.

Amazing 501 - what EP said somewhere, somewhen.

Specacular 7 and 8 - the Spidey villain showcase continues with an all new-looking Doc Ock showing up. WHere's the Peter Parker book gone??????

Thor - The Reigning #3. Not as good as the last arc. NOt bad, not great.

Lessee, what did I get on the Marvel front?

Picked up the new Captain America by Bachalo and Morales. Not bad. I haven't read Cap ( other than Ultimate Cap and the recent Avengers stuff) in almost a decade, so I'm muddy on the supporting cast and his status as American hero. I missed the last year of his original series, the Leifeld debacle, and the following 50 issue series. So this issue was...whoa! Cap's using a gun??? i thought it weird that talking to his new girlfriend (c'mon that's where it's going...) about her job as a painter/design artist, he made no mention of his former occupation as a freelance comic book artist. But I liked how they played off each other, and I liked the casual banter between the agents and Steve about good places to eat steak in Brroklyn. is this series worth backtracking back to number 1? i'll definitely be checking out next month's issue.

Thanos. The Mad Titan and Galactus square off. Starlin really has a handle on the cosmic plot. The art is little underwhelming, though. I guess my expectations were/are too high, this being Starlin on a Thanos book. but did we really need Pip the fucking loser ass lame character of all time Troll? Sporting some kind of gay nehru hunting vest over his faggy fur loincloth? What a dope. makes Puck from Alpha Flight look like Wolverine in the cool dept.

Hulk. Jones plots more excuses for Deodato to undress the hotties in this book. last month Sonia was reduced to her bra and panties. This month Nadia was "forced" to take off her blouse and expose her braless tittes so (ahem) Doc Sampson could jury rig a gun. i expect next month, the three ladies will be forced to wrestle naked in Jello to prevent the Hulk from doing...whatever...

Ugh. Starlin is leaving Thanos after only six issues. Creative differences or some such nonsense. Ron Lim is taking over the art which kicks balls, but I feel that this series will be dead soon. Too bad.

Much like Namor and Sentinel which both end with issue 12.

You know, Namor was good through 6 issues. I'll stick it out. Sentinel I didn't touch. Whatever is happening to the Torch and Venom "Tsunami" books? Are they going in the trough too? As if for one fucking second Johnny Storm rates his own book. Where the fuck is Shang Chi?

I finally found Supreme Power 1 and 3-5. GOD DAMN! The hype is not undeserved!!

I only read #1, since I'm missing the second. Since this is a pretty small, closer-knit group than SSG, if any of you are able to find #2 at a decent price, I'd be most appreciative.

I'll check my store and the brother store in Victoria. They often have extra copies of tough books somehow (helped me with the third-last "Hush" book when my copy got damaged - so keep hope alive).

The first issue has more action than the subsequent 3, but it's still an amazing story so far. Can't wait to see #5.

Yeah, I'll look around too.

So I don't buy FF, but I do ocasionally flip through it on the racks. Whoa. Ben getting toasted at the Hands of Reed to destroy Victor. Whoa. Comments? Whoa.

Yes, Reed has been going mental for the entire arc. He literally seized Latveria and stood in the face of Nick Fury when he came to talk representing the US Govt. It's been insane ever since Waid took over. Can't wait to see where it goes.

Well, I finished off this arc. Ben dead, Reed going to bring him back. Fairly interesting finale with Doom inheriting the bodies of 3 FF members before finally being forcefully evicted at the end. The FF impoverished, Reed being dealt with for his political impropriety wrt dealing with Latveria, all very interesting. Much to deal with here, Mr. Waid.

Hulk 64 was great as well. Can't wait to see how this wraps, though I'm concerned we're nearing the end of our time with Bruce Jones. I don't read Wizard, is he leaving the book? The big mystery appears almost ready to be unravelled.

Amazing 502. Very nice stand alone story, as you all mentioned it was. Still happy with JMS making this the "character" book, though his take on any recognizable Spider-Villain would be appreciated before he signs off. I wonder who he'll pick?
