Yeah, that Yarna wave was the last time I bought Star Wars stuff. If she came out in the vintage line, I wouldn't have got her because I stopped after ESB. The only ROTJ toy that was in our house was my brother's Biker Scout. That was about when GI Joe took over.
It is kind of funny how Kenner skipped some of the characters in the vintage line like Tarkin, the Rebel Fleet Trooper, and Sandtrooper. Yet they made characters with much less screen time like Snaggletooth, Hammerhead, the Cloud Car Pilot, and the AT-AT Driver.
I've been paying so little attention to SW figures lately, I don't know what's coming out beyond the first ANH wave in Jan. I was planning on getting those, plus the Yavin battlepack. Is there any good stuff coming out beyond those?

It was a question of the fat dancin' bitch and the creepy old man that stood around vs. cool aliens, soldiers and pilots for your vehicles.

They haven't announced anything beyond that yet apart from random things in the Q&As. Next year, we know there's a wave for each movie and an additional wave for ESB (and a second ANH if you count the January one in that total), so you may be interested in some of that. The ROTJ wave has a Death Star II Luke, "interesting" Leia (probably concept), Malakili (for whatever reason), a Nikto guard, an Ewok, and some other shit I forgot. So, eh.

So, it's been thirteen years. Still no properly-scaled Jabba the Hutt with accessories.
Unless you want a goofy-ass one from the Pseudo-Clone Wars. That got made in less than a year.
God damn, I hate you, Hasbro.
So, in other words, fellow OT fans, we're fucked. Officially nothing but fugly Clone Wars figures and Clonetrooper repaints from here on. Everyone out of the pool.

A long while back, I remember reading a Hasbro Q&A and they were asked about a Jabba with Dias in a battlepack. They gave some lame answer about looking for the "right time" or something.
I saw the new ESB wave on entertainmentearth's website. It isn't a particularly interesting group of figures. That has to be the worst Emperor yet. I'm probably one of the few OT collecters that never wanted anything from the medical frigate scene at the end of the movie.
The other thing that pisses me off is that there is a R5 build a droid I want, but in order to complete it, I have to buy 3 clones with some of the ANH figures.

I'm fucking sick of the build a figure trend. every fucking year the toy industry comes up with some kind of assclown fuckery like holo figures or silver painted figures or bonus terd in a mini blister.
the build a figure thing is the most insidious pile of crap ever though. and to cap it all companies do it with the shittiest figures ever. then shortpack everything.
exclusives are another pet hate. the stuff people clamour for sold at one store only. a store that isn't even global. or has no online shop and if they do it's unavaible to anyone outside of one continent.
it's bad enough that this shit costs so much these days without then having to shell out megabucks to have stuff imported. if you can even find it.
cynical arse fuckery that's all it is.

The Emperor is based on the original version from ESB, the old lady with monkey eyes. Stupid as shit, but it looks like her.
As for the droid, you're wrong. To get both droids, just get all eight ANH figures. Or get the four that come with the one you want. They just put the same parts in a few different, older figures, including clones. So you can just ignore them.

No properly-scaled Jabba except for the 1997 from ANH, two different 1999 ones from TPM, and the 2004 one from ROTJ, which is actually correctly sized. Look at Bib and C-3PO next to him:

Here's the 2004 one; it's the only picture I can find with figures next to it:

And you know the "nothing for OT fans" line is also wrong; there's at least one wave from each of those movies this year, and I almost think that each OT movie is getting two waves this year (though I'm not sure).

That Jabba doesn't count because it looks like shit.

True, but it's properly scaled.

Thanks for the info about the Build a droid. I feel better now.
What bugged me about the new Emperor was that it looks like they mixed soft goods and molded plastic.
What's sad is that my favorite Jabba so far has been the Episode I version with the green goo.

Sadly, nothing compares 2 vintage Jabba. He's still awesome. (Sorry about the Sinead O'Connor ref, for those that got it and are still mad at her for ripping up the Pope's picture).
