the guy behind the counter was friendly and all, but seemingly only to the 'regulars'. it was a young crowd in there, so that's good (new blood) but by the same token, if you've never seen someone before, you DAMN well better go out of your way to help them, or you'll never see them again.
i understand from a certain point of view that it's risky to order 'smaller' titles and that you gotta know what side your bread is buttered on, but at the same time, it's risky HAVING A SMALL BUSINESS!!!! that's WHAT YOU DO - SELL COMICS! had i a store, i would order a few copies of each 'small' title just to have in the off chance that someone wants to check it out, or at the very least to have in the back-issue bins. you're just not going to grow as a business unless you take a few risks that can pay off in the long run. i still can't fathom how anyone wouldn't dig on 'hellboy', but that's beside the point. i mean, the fucking WALKING DEAD!!!! it's probably image's top seller!

Just did the math on instocktrades.com and I can get Y: The Last Man #6-10 (finishing my trade run) and The Walking Dead #2-10 (getting me up to date) for $124.13, which make 14 trades for about $8.86 each.
I can split it into 2 shipments of $65 (Y 6-10, TWD 2-3) and $60 (TWD 4-10) and take advantage of the free shipping.
Awesome.
Time to start saving.

DB, what's the story (inasmuch as you can tell so far) on the "new" character in Batman: Widening Gyre?

incognito was great. a really solid ending to the mini. witchfinder continues to intrigue. UC spidey is interesting... the art is quite a departure from the first series.

Frank Castle: The Punisher #74 - Penultimate issue and final story arc. Next months final issue before the relaunch seems to be a tribute issue of sorts from various writers and artists.
Kick-Ass #7 - Absolutely fucking brutal issue. I can't imagine what the movie will be like if they follow the story faithfully.

Amazing Spider-man 604
Ultimate Comics The Avengers 2 - interesting take on the 'red skull'.

also, finally received my DD #500. they took july off, to be able to release an extra-sized issue in august and it took three weeks to be delivered to me? WTF is that noise?
one of the biggest 'holy shit' moments of the year at the end. REALLY interested in where this is going.
