It even has a clitoris, for God's sake.
Even fanboys need to fuck something.

Like DB said, we were actually laughing at some of the shit Hasbro pumped out in a feeble attempt to get people excited about SW again. Say what you will, but the paint job on Yarna was beyond laughable, the CW figures look like a failed high school art project, the "fucked up Vader" fails both in idea and execution and if I have to see another clone I'll gouge my eyes out.

Funny, in San Diego (stores, not Con), both Seven and I had shitty luck at different stores finding stuff.

Do you think that because of all the Comic-Con crowd being in town? There has to be a good number of scalpers following that show.

I think, since you and I seem to be on different ends of this - you seem to be justifying any reason to hate Star Wars lately, and perhaps I seem to be justifying any reason to still like it - that we're seeing it differently.
My Yarna is overall fantastic . . . there's some semi-bad paint on her tits, but it just looks like underboob so it's not terrible. She has a weird-looking face with a different color than the rest of her skin, but that's how it was in the movie. What exactly is wrong with her? I don't like the extremely obvious joints on her elbows and knees but otherwise she's great.
Overall, I think the Clone Wars figures look like their on-screen counterparts, which is what Hasbro was going for. If you hate the character designs or the fact that these are animated-looking, then you'll hate the figures, but if you go with the flow, they're actually pretty nice.
The TFU Vader is still pretty shitty, I'll give you that, if that's what you meant. I really like the two-piece removable helmet one . . . mine looks fine, but I've heard other people bitching about the helmet or some shit.
Shit. I can't think of a good signature.

Seven can tell you the story herself, but she went to midnight madness at TRU and they simply didn't receive (or at least put out) ANY OT stuff aside from the Falcon.

My wife called from a Target pretty far from the convention on Saturday morning, and it seemed like the only OT stuff was the reissue figures (and, of course, the Falcon).

I don't think I'm finding any reason to hate it. I just think the whole thing is a money grab. To make sure they get both testes in one swift kick, they put out shitty figures to go with a shitty movie.

It is absolutely your right to buy it and to love it and to see the movie. I'm not like individuals at other SW collecting sites who judge your character/worth as a person based on what you do or do not buy. Afterall, not all of us can afford the 5 AT-TEs we will soon own!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Further, I don't hate Star Wars. I do, however, hate the Star Wars-esque shit that has been pumped out for a couple years now. Han Solo? Cool. Random Cantina alien? Yeah, I'm still on board. Prince Xizor? Meh, alright. Hobbie in TIE Pilot armor? Get the fuck out of here. That's a grab at cash, especially since there is not a single new element aside from putting a red paint app on the wings of an existing TIE Fighter.

But alas. I seriously hold no ill will toward you. If you want it, buy it. Personally, the "vintage" Lando Burger King glass my brother-in-law grabbed me at a flea market for $1 last week is by far the best SW purchase I've made in the last two or three years.

Anarky speaks the truth. Matt (Turbowars at the other site) and myself waited in line for 2.5 hours at the Morena TRU in San Diego and they had NO OT figures except for the lame rehashed, reissued on the new card SAGA legends. No sand storm figs, no yarna or bane, no wokling :( I did pick up the pilots evolution pack and they had STACKS upon STACKS of millenniun falcons and at-te's of which we skipped on both. The falcon was 159.99, with tax, you're looking at 180 bucks out the door...NOT WORTH IT. Instead, I bought the Master Replicas full size Stormtrooper helmet (retailed for $399) for 100 bones. A much better purchase in my opinion. thanks for taking me to that booth Mr. Anarky!

But, I must say, we actually had a great time in line because the 501st, the Hasbro team and the TRU employees had a huge party in the parking lot with a life size pocket model game for the kids and the kids there were SO excited and happy that it was totally worth it. They gave away huge packs of the games to the kids and toys and candy and everything, it was (even though there were no figs I wanted really) a great time!
The Borg wouldn't know fun if they assimilated an Amusement Park.

That kind of makes me glad I didn't go to Midnight Madness this time around, because all I bought was OT stuff save for the Padme Evolutions set.
Good. Bad. I'm the guy with the gun.

Can't go wrong with a Vintage Lando glass.

I'm between JJL and Antropov on the Yarna issue. The joints on the arms and legs bother me more than the iffy paint job. Honestly, I would have settled for just the old POTF2-styled artucilation. Anyway, I can't praise it, I can't bash it. It is what it is.

The Ewok and Bane Malor are what I expected. No complaints. Ak Rev's legs look like they took them off a green plastic army man ,but gave it ankle articualtion. He's probably my least favorite of the four I bought. The SE drum is now complete, and for some reason, my kids get a kick out of making the figures hit it.

Not that it matters at this point, but I don't like how all the cards are the same for the Clone Wars, OT, and the re-releases.

Word. It turns everything to Colt .45.

Isn't there a little antenna thingy on the Clone head on one of the series' cards?

For what its worth, DB and I saw all the figures except for Snow Bunny Padme but we didn't see the BMF or AT-TE. We did see a Bib Fortuna at Meijer. Seriously. They had him and the 4-LOM wave of figures. That was it.

Honestly, I didn't look that hard. When I saw them the first time, I grabbed the 4 I was looking for. I've been ignoring non-OT figures since the POTJ line, so I'm quite good at it. When I went back this weekend, I was looking at the Galactic Heros and the Evolutions packs. The only other figures I noticed was the Ewok throne C3PO and some funky colored R2 that my wife pointed out.

It doesn't look like I'll be buying another regular carded figure until 2009.

I did some "independent research" (Google images) and discovered that there is a difference. Here's the OT card and here's the CW card.

Yup, the Legacy Collection stuff is on stormtrooper cards and the Clone Wars stuff is on clone trooper cards. I like the packaging for everything else, but the figures are kind of shitty-looking. I fucking hate the wraparound shit that's made a return from the ROTS and TSC figures, I fucking hate that shit. But I do like how, if you're not looking at the top of the cards, you can tell the difference between the lines since realistic-style figures have pictures on the left side and animated-style are have it on the right.

I had no idea Bane Malar was so damn short. He makes Luke look tall, for fuck's sake. He looks pretty good otherwise, but I still think they should have chosen another person who was actually visibly in the movie before making him.

Nor I you, good sir. I agree that putting out another movie and more figures could seem like a money grab. Hopefully it'll be good.

Okay, and I can see your point on the "Star Wars-esque shit" and agree with it. The $55 vandalized TIE Fighter and Vader's Pajama Party set are pretty retarded. But I still think Yarna and most of the other current stuff is good, and that's fine if you don't.
Shit. I can't think of a good signature.

Aside from the fact that I think she has a shitty paint job, she is a long overdue figure (in the opinion of others, which I respect). The bulk of the OT stuff was alright. I can't really be a judge of stuff put out anymore due to the fact that I seem to have contracted "peaches syndrome" about SW toys in that no matter what they put on shelves I'll find a reason to bitch and call it crap. Unlike other collectors, I used that as an invitation to quit buying the shit rather than as a means of entitlement vis a vis making Hasbro to feel that they "owe me" whatever I want because I bought all the shit they put out.

Truth be told, I thought the Bane Malar figure was pretty cool. I've thought he was pretty nifty since the Decipher card of him came out in 1998. But I see no reason to even bother buying any figures anymore since they'll just end up in the kids' toybox sooner than later.

So my haul for today:

Yarna
Leektar & Nippet
Vader
Han
Bane
Luke
Chewie
Ak-Rev
Armored Saessee
Armored Obi-Wan
IG Lancer Droid
Mon Cal Soldier
Quarren Soldier
Snowbunny Padme
Heavy Gunner Clone
Rebel Pilots Evolution
Padme Evolution
GH Jar Jar vs Droideka
Transformers Onslaught
GIJoe Cobra Commander vs Tripwire
GIJoe Nemesis Enforcer Immortal vs Lt Falcon
GIJoe Destro & Iron Grenadier

I fucking hate street dates for multiple waves. Especially when the stores hold all the other lines back, knowing geeks will be out in force to find the new SW shit. I could've found all this shit over the course of several weeks, but, no, I have to get it all at once because I'm not patient and get it when I find it. And I still don't have the Scuba Trooper. Thanks for killing my wallet the week after Comic-Con, Hasbro. I like the toys, but, fuck, slow down a little, won't you?
