it's a solid flick that gets the characterizations relatively correct - looks as though the second one is going to be even more true to the comic.

I've never seen the extended cut of Hellboy. Worth it?

ya, totally. there's some extra characterization of both rasputin and hellboy therein.

I saw Hellboy in theaters once and the only other way I've seen it is the Directors Cut on DVD. I didn't notice anything different.

Speaking of which, who else is really looking forward to "Hellboy II"? I wasn't that interested at first, especially since I thought the first one was just "okay", but the marketing campaign has really intrigued me.

yes, very. i enjoyed the first one, though it wasn't as good as the comics, but this one looks like it's both more in-tune with the source material and also a lot crazier looking. looks like after pan's labyrinth del toro got financial carte blanche to do what he will, which is cool...

I watched the first one a while back and liked it. When I saw the preview for the new one, I thought it looked like a really gay Resident Evil wannabe sort of thing, with that pale guy hamming it up. After Hellboy showed up, it got better, but the first impression has stayed with me . . . who knows. I doubt I'll see it in the theater.

Fight Club sucked? It's a bit weird, for sure. I enjoyed it. It's worth a viewing to see Bellatrix LeStrange show off some boobies.

As far as "classic" movies, I watched Casablanca for the first time a few days ago. I don't get the fascination.

Humphrey Bogart is a badass. It's a tragic love story about self-sacrifice with amazing characterization. And it's one of the most quotable films ever.

Bogart was a pussy here. Quit your damn crying and find another bitch.
And there are like five good quotes, but "Play it, Sam" is always fucked up into "Play it again, Sam." Dunno. I just don't know why it's always in the top lists of movies compared to what else is out there.

Five good quotes?
"The problems of two people don't amount to a hill of beans in this world."
"If you don't get on that plane, you're going to regret it. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but soon, and for the rest of your life."
"Play it, Sam. You played it for her, now play it for me."
"Round up the usual suspects."
"This could be the beginning of a beautiful friendship."
"We'll always have Paris."
I'm already at six.
Bogart wasn't a pussy here. The man was in love. He got screwed over, and became the most self-absorbed prick on earth to compensate. He could've kept on that way, and had the girl, but he sacrificed his own happiness for the greater good.
Casablanca is a fucking awesome movie.

Other than the video for Time Warp, I've never saw The Rocky Horror Picture Show. It just occured to me when I saw the DVD at Walmart for $7.50. I remember when it was released on VHS while I was working at that video store in high school. Just never got around to seeing it.

I haven't seen that, in its entirety, either.
