ANYHOO...BACK TO GIJOE. is anybody reading Declassified? I'm a little peeved that it purports to be the secret recruitment storyline and it STILL picks up after everyone is on the team. WTF Hama??
America's Elite is getting good again. Cobra Commander is Chief of Staff? Holy shitballs! That is too cool. And you thought the Joes were having trouble with the jugglers. this spins that shit right out the window. Discuss.

Ugh. America's Elite stalls again. I think we need a new writer. You can't just futz along for a dozen issues so you can get to the really cool "silent issue" 21.
Scarlett Declassified was good.
Anybody read Joe/TF III The Art Of War? There were so few copies to be found at me store I didnt even start it. But now the Trade is out. Should i get it?

Wow, this is douchey:
http://cgi.ebay.com/G-I-JOE-155-VF-NM-O ... dZViewItem
10 lots of random comics, one copy of GIJoe #155, and you have only a 1/10 chance of getting the comic in the auction title? And no mention of what the other comics are?
Isn't this against the rules of eBay?

I already have that issue. I'm missing the issue before it with Roadblock on the cover. And also the elusive Special Reprint of GIJoe 61 with McFarlane's art and the Mcfarlane Spidey pose of Snake-Eyes on the cover. That fucker is hard to find and EXPENSIVE.
jesus... how many times has he re-used that image??? that's once right there, an issue of spider-man (#13 i think) with the black costume instead of the red and blues, and an issue of spawn. anyone know of any more?

I was in college at the end of the Joe run, pre-ordering (and pre-paying!) for my comics from a store in the town I went to school.
They went out of business over the summer when I was at home, and I was out the money, and couldn't get many of the comics, as I had no way to contact the store, and they'd come out during the summer and were long gone when I got back in town and drove up to a now-empty building.
Among those I missed were the last few GIJoes. God dammit. I'll never a complete set like I do with Transformers, because I won't pay $100 each for the last two.
I did find them online in JPG format later, so I've read them. No great loss storywise.
Had no idea that #61 reprint was valuable. I did look recently for the GIJoe vs Transformers paperback (with the Wildman cover), and it's pretty overpriced. I guess my TF paperback saga I'm building will be missing that one, but I have the issues. And the story sucks. If not for the death of Bumblebee, it wouldn't matter a bit. Cool cover, though.

EP, run a cover scan of Spider-Man 13 (same series), didn't he go again with it on that one? EDITED: Yep.

There are other spoofs of that cover, too but I can't think of them off hand. It's been a long intervening 15 years...

Yeah, I was gonna say something earlier like "I don't remember writing that" but I thought anarky was just goofing around and I didn't disagree with what had been written so....
I think Deadpool might have spoofed it at some point also.
And Marvel Zombies recently did a send up.

A fairly cool conclusion to the latest story arc. Cobra Commander has files and intelligence on EVERY member of G.I.Joe, current and former, active and reserve. And now that he's traded the infant McCullen back to its parents in exchange for all of M.A.R.S. military might, hes in a perfect position for the upcoming year long WWIII story arc. This series has its up and downs, but the slow stories always end with a bang. I wish more would happen every issue because its difficult for me to remember if anything pertinent happens from month to month.
Stormshadow #2 comes out next week. We'll see what Larry Hama has cooked up.

Shit, it looks like half of the GIJoe stuff is out of print, too. And, well, with these, devilsdue.net explicitly states "Out of print--No plans to reprint!"
What's the point of structuring all your stories so they fit nicely into trade paperbacks if you're going to take the paperbacks out of print in less than two years?
