Went to TRU today. Got the Avengers Black Widow figure and six Series 8 Lego minifigures.
They had a new wave of Star Wars with the alternative vintage cards. There was Leia, a Kentucky Fried Vader, Sandtrooper, Jar Jar, and some others. Decided I really didn't want Leia, I'm done buying Vader, and I have enough Sandtroopers (even though they aren't from the current sculpt).

I found Classics Fall of Cybertron Shockwave. He's apparently a bitch to find.
I want the Cybertron Jazz, but I'm not willing to pay $15 for him. Since this is the first Classics Shockwave, I'm a bit more willing to spend more.

I saw that Jazz in Target yesterday. And I saw the Shockwave on the bottom of the package. It looks pretty goddamn sweet.

Ordered Wedge and TAC R2 from Amazon. Got the Lego Monster Hunters Ghost polybag and two more series 8 minifigures (Deep Sea Diver and football player). I was hoping the football player was the Conquistador, but I guessed wrong. Also got the Avengers Nick Fury figure, but I haven't opened it yet.
Almost got the Ewok and ANH Pilot sets from TRU. Buy 1 get one half off this weekend. They are $40 each, so it would only have been $60 for both. Decided to hold off for now. I'm waiting for my GI Bill money to kick in. TRU had a Marvel Kraven figure. He looks like he could have been some sort of screwed-up Dreadnok.

I went to Toys R Us today. They had 3 of the Galaxy Squad Lego sets. I bought the $15 set. The other two were the more expensive sets. I also got the Chinese packaged Bluestreak Transformer and the animated Windcharger.
Over the past few days, I've seen Wedge twice in the stores, once at TRU, once at Walmart. TRU also had a couple Hoth Lukes. Another thing that surprised me at TRU was that they had 10 Cobra Troopers from the new movie and only a few Roadblocks and Snake Eyes.

Got a bunch of TRU exclusive TF's, stacking several promos. Well, actually, doing multiple transactions.
Powerdive (who's a G2 update and, well, the 'Cons always need forces), Laserbeak, Sandstorm, Hoist, andWildrider Dead End, for about what Powerdive, Hoist, and one of the others would've cost.
No sign of Hot Spot. But Megatron is a fucking shelfwarmer who'd go on clearance at the end of the month at any store but TRU.

Re: So, what toys did you buy or get this week?
We decided to go to the flea market today. First thing I got was a movie version of Duke from a KMart exclusive set for $1. No accessories, but after looking from the picture, it was just the generic weapons they gave most of the movie figures. He's probably going to get his head swapped out anyway.
Then I found three NHL Lego (two 10127 and one 3544) sets from 2003 for $10. We just finished putting them together. There were 3 or 4 pieces missing, but non of them were too important and probably have replacement. It included the instruction books and sticker sheets. It looks like I might have got $50+ worth of Legos.
The last thing I got was a carded GI Joe Rise of Cobra Pit Commando. On ebay, they usually go for around $20. I got it for $8.
Anyway, not a bad haul considering it was the flea market.

Re: So, what toys did you buy or get this week?
That Duke is decent enough. I picked it up for the gold-colored Viper and MARS Trooper, and to use the other two as custom fodder. Nice find on the Pit Commando--that is one sweet figure, practically a modern-day accessory pack with a free figure tossed in. The figures were all better than the stupid movie.
I got the Amazon Renegades set in the mail today. The packaging is top-notch. All exclusives should be packed like this. Gray and white box with Storm Shadow and Snake Eyes artwork, with a simple, easy-open box inside. And the figures tossed in separate compartments in baggies. This might sound kinda odd given the detail in the packaging, and not like a good thing, but, if you've ever fought some of Hasbro's tougher-to-open figures, you appreciate it. (Seriously, Generations Skywarp vs Ultra Magnus took me almost a half hour to open!)

I bought Professor X. It is probably my last purchase for a while since I don't think any more GI Joe or Star Wars come out until sometime this summer.

Re: So, what toys did you buy or get this week?
Where'd you get him? I'm not sure I want to ask anyone to look for him, but I want to keep my own eyes open.
Also, can you tell how "Joe-esque" his body is?
I picked up the Ninja Combat Cruiser (an update of the VAMP using the POC VAMP chassis, with missiles, making it essentially a Cobra STING update). Every single one I've ever seen has been obviously re-taped, but it looks like something done before it hit retail, for some reason. Also, a bit unusually, the Target I found it at had all "Delta"-scaled vehicles for $16.99. (Unfortunately, they had one Combat Cruiser and six HISS Tanks, and I've already too many HISSes to buy duplicates, especially when they're likely to issue a new model every year until doomsday.)

Re: So, what toys did you buy or get this week?
It was at Toys R Us. I previously saw Jubilee from the wave at a Walmart.
He is built pretty much like a Joe figure. His knees only have one hinge, as opposed to the two hinges GI Joes have. The peg for his head is about (maybe a hair smaller) the same size as GI Joe as well. But I did a head swap with a Joe figure and it worked.

Re: So, what toys did you buy or get this week?
I guess they may have tweaked the knees to make him cheaper to build, and more consistent with the Marvel figures, I guess? No biggie.
IIRC, Hasbro was asked if they'd repaint that snigtarded "vampire Jubilee" figure to be the classic, non-undead look that I refuse to acknowledge. Despite this being relatively simple, they didn't see it as important. Ah well.

We went to Ross today because I was looking for a case and screen protector for my ipod. They didn't have either, but they had the Dewback for $14. I had no idea Ross was even carrying them.

They've been getting a lot of Hasbro's clearance items for the last year or two, including several stores' (former) exclusives.Ran wrote:We went to Ross today because I was looking for a case and screen protector for my ipod. Shit. I can't think of a good signature.
