If there's been a knock on Dallas Stars goalie Kari Lehtonen(notes), who signed a new three-year deal this summer, it's that he hasn't exactly been a model of fortitude. Groin injuries, back injuries, ankle injuries ... he's only appeared in more than 60 games in a season once since being drafted second overall in 2002.

So what better way to capture the spirit of courage, strength and steadfast confidence than by putting Chuck Norris on your new goalie mask?

We've got Mabs & JJReason - both Canadian, so naturally they're fans.
Cappy/Antropov, Slick and I are from Michigan, which means we're half Canadian, so yeah, we're hockey fans too.

Actually, I think Mabs is a Leafs fan, so I'm not sure that really counts as being a hockey fan anymore...

This is apparently a real, very recent (as in this week) Green Lantern cover. It's not only "funny ass" in every sense of the word, but it's also ass, and crosses the line into self-parody by a wide margin.

I'll watch a hockey game with the same excitement i watch any major sporting event. Which is to say, if it happens to be on when I turn on the TV I'll watch it and enjoy it, but its not like I'm looking through the TV GUIDE giddy in anticipation. Major League Sports are like reality shows where the participants already won the Million dollar prize.


Imagine the revenue stream if they nationalized Major Sports. All profits go back to the govt. Like the Lottery. And players only got paid if they won.

I remember having that conversation with my father a couple times. We're a society that pays to be entertained. I believe every team in pro sports is privately owned, except for the Green Bay Packers who are publicly owned. Many of the local governments do make money off of pro sport franchises in the form of stadium leases and all of the tax revenue generated by the teams.
