What have you watched lately?

movies are cool. here is a place to talk about how cool they are. or maybe how much they suck, sometimes. like that fucking piece of shit 'mac and me'. worst fucking movie ever, a two-hour ad for fucking coca-cola.

My sister-in-law insists it's a huge-ass book, bigger than Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows. I just recall seeing it in Target about a week ago and asking Mrs A, "How the hell did they break that book into two movies?"

I would love it of they made the split in the middle of a scene, mid-line for absolutely no reason other than because it was the half-way point.

I'll often stop a movie right in mid scene while I'm watching it. Because its a porno and, y'know, I finished.

that's certainly the way it felt in the theater (yes, unfortunately, i was forced to go see it.) my mom relayed to my brother that she was watching the little one while the wife and i "went to go see the new twilight movie" to my brother. i corrected her and said that my wife went to go see the new twilight movie. i went to go sit in comfy chair in a dark room.
Life is short. STUNT IT!

Rewatched Sherlock Holmes in anticipation of the sequel. Rachel McAdams in nothing but a towel is Giggity. And the bickering between Holmes and Watson is hilarious.

Also watched Miami Vice with Foxx and Farrell. I consider it less a remake of a TV show and more as part of a Michael Mann crime trilogy with Heat and Collateral.

I watched Green Lantern tonight.
I liked it. Yeah, it could have been better, but people gave this movie way too much shit.

I think people give it exactly the right amount of shit. You have to remember people were paying $10-15 ( or more if you went 3D) in theatres. You paid $1 at RedBox and got $1 worth of entertainment. In theatres we got $1 worth for $15. That'll leave a guy cheesed off.

I paid $10 for the Blu-Ray back on Friday.
And I have no attachment to GL whatsoever. I know the basics about him, but I don't think I've ever read a GL comic.
Plus, I saw the "Extended Cut" which is apparently better than the theatrical cut.

And Redbox is now $1.20 for DVD and $1.50 for Blu-Ray.

Who watches the Watchmen? Me. Rewatched it again.

X-Men:First Class. Upon viewing this a second time, I think it's the best of the Four comic movies this year. Better than Captain America even. I also think Michael Fassbender would make a good 007 in the future.

Watched Super 8 last night.
I dug it. ET meets Cloverfield with a hint of Goonies.

I love First Class more and more every time I see it.
I'd love for the sequel to jump forward a decade and introduce the Sentinels.

Rollo Tomassi wrote:J. Edgar. A decent biopic that focuses on his unrequited gay relationship with his 2nd in command Clyde Tolver. Could have been tightened up in places. And seriously, with all the advancements in SFX over the years, the 'aged' make-up looked like shit. But it will probably garner some Academy Noms. And they're deserved. Just don't know if they're good enough to win.
Saw J. Edgar last night. I really enjoyed it, but it suffers from the same problem most biopics have: it feels like a Cliffsnotes version with a few biggest moments highlighted.

I half agree about the makeup. Hoover's was great. Tolver's was abysmal.

The other thing that bugged me about J. Edgar was the way all the actors 'acted' old with the head doddering. You'd think Clint Eastwood would have curtailed that from his performers, what with him being in his 80s. And both my parents are in their 70s. And several other elderly people I know. All of them are active alert human beings with plenty of vigor. None of them wander around with their head shaking like a damned cliche.

Anyway, in light of John Neville's passing, I watched The Adventures of Baron Munchausen today. Uma Thurman's underage bared nipple is always a delight to see. And the late Oliver Reed as Vulcan is a riot. But the real treat here is Neville's performance. I can't imagine why any of you wouldnt have seen this masterpiece multiple times, but if you havent, get to it forthwith. Immediately.

That movie sucked ass. And you mentioning it reminds me that Juliet Lewis can't suck a duck to save her life. I'm not saying she gave me the worst blowjob ever (that was a Helen Mirren and Rose McGowan double team. The less said about that unfortunate evening the better) but she was awful. Granted, it was when she was 18, so she might've improved her technique in the last twenty years. But who the fuck wants to fuck a 50 year old Lewis in the face? Nasty.
GOD! That is so STUPID!! You are WRONG!!
