FINALLY got around to seeing DS:ITMOM last night. holy shit, what an insane movie. Wanda just being able to let loose, the cameos (i wanna see the more of the alternate universe version of Captain Marvel), Dr. Evil Dead Strange with his Cloak of Lost Souls, the musical note fight, just an absolute Raimi-fest through and through.

and, in my head-canon the Necronomicon is just another name for the Darkhold so The Evil Dead series is now part of the MCU. in fact, i wouldn't be surprised if there was some blink-and-you-missed-it glimpse of something from the series in the "fall through the multiverse".

That musical note fight may be the corniest and cringiest thing I've seen in the MCU.

I'm about 40 minutes into it so far & I'm down with the premise. The opening act complete with skewered Evil Dead eyeball was pretty good.

Those were beautifully batshit, and, yeah, the musical note fight could've been lifted right out of one of those issues.

Love and Thunder is a great film, and it has an amazing soundtrack.

Also not sure if I shat my pants harder over Hercules or Eternity.

Definitely the second one. Beautifully comic accurate.

The jealous Stormbreaker gag is some of the funniest shit ever. I will randomly think about it and choke from laughing so hard.

Jane explaining wormholes using the explaining wormholes meme was also extremely fucking funny and not enough people in my theater laughed at it.

This does not detract from how great the movie is, but being its own satire of itself was almost too much. Like going back to the well with the Asgardian Drama Club and then Crowe’s hammy-on-purpose Zeus felt like they were over padding the movie with ridiculousness.

Christian Bale nailed it.

The Junior Thor Corps at the end was very emotionally satisfying. Fist punching the air satisfying.

I don’t know if you guys are keeping up with Ms. Marvel, but in the final episode they basically call her a mutant. Not sure I’m a fan of that retcon. But beyond the casual reveal, the implications for the MCU are gonna be huge.

Also, Carol Danvers in the post credit stinger was cool. It sets up the movie.

I actually missed a detail on my first viewing and saw someone mention it, so I double checked. Right after Bruno says the word "mutation," A SNIPPET OF THE X-MEN ANIMATED SERIES THEME PLAYS!!
