And all I'm missing is Hulk:Grey after #2. The Marvel stuff is ass-wipe compared to the work they did with Batman, by the way.

Agreed. The Batman stuff is some of the best COMICS ever though, not just Loeb/Sale stuff. All comics.
I didn't care for Hulk:Grey. Which is why I was reluctant to get Yellow and Blue. (That and Loeb has sucked ass since his kid died).

So i spent some time reading Fear Itself 1-3 and a few related books tonight (FI Spider-Man 1, Journey Into Mystery 623, Alpha Flight 1) and it was ok. The Alpha Flight book was likely the worst of the bunch, so you can mark me down as NOT buying 2-8. The Spider-Man book was ok, as were the limited series issues. I have a few other related books up there - I haven't caught up on the 3 Avengers series yet so that will flesh it out a bit more. Nothing jaw-dropping yet, not even the end of issue 3 really surprised or excited me and I wasn't spoilered in the least going into it.

The original solicitations looked like it was going to be a gripping story about the heroes having to face the real-world issues they can't deal with, compounded by Red Skull's daughter (Sin?) harnessing the power of some sort of god of fear.
It looks from the comments I read about it that the stupid snake thing from Atlantis Attacks! way back in the late 80s annuals (89?) dropped a lot of Norse hammers around, and whoever gets close to one turns into a shitty Hulk clone.
Am I interpreting this right?

Thats the gist of it.
It's funny. I haven't read but a small couple of the tie-in books and I feel like I know pretty much everything thats happened. Mostly from the carpet-bombing of advertisements. If Marvel pimped their lesser selling books half as much as they have FI they'd have a lot of best sellers.

Kinda random who was chosen to grab a hammer too: Ben Grimm, Attuma (at least I think that's who it was, from Atlantis anyhow), Absorbing Man, Titania, Juggyballs, Bruce Banner and I can't remember who the fuck else. They've barely shown up in the main series so far.

Well I guess Sin got a hammer too (so have the congregation come in with a "DUH" here instead of their usual "AMEN").
Finished DAREDEVIL: REBORN and it was pretty cool. I haven't been reading any DD lately, but I didn't have much trouble picking it up. It sets the stage for his grand return in July under the guidance of Mark Waid, which I'm guessing has some potential - it will almost certainly be different from the gritty Brubaker/Bendis/Miller style book.
I haven't read the Black Panther issues just yet, but that there is another book that Marvel has pissed me off with. I know, we'll just go ahead & insert another hero into an established book to keep fanboys buying so they don't break their run! Is that seriously the only way you guys can sell Black Panther? He's BLACK FUCKING PANTHER!!!!

There is absolutely no reason Daredevil: Reborn couldn't have been the next four issues of Daredevil, as Diggle's four-part swan song.
I skipped the whole Black Panther bullshit. And the stories in there better not pop back up in DD later.

Ugh. That Black Panther series is utter shit. They made T'Challa into an inept asshole who is acting like its first day on the crime fighting. You'd do well to skip the entire thing. Its a real travesty.

Marvel will pretty soon have launched its own 52 new #1's, based on how this is going:
X-Men just released about issue 13 or 14
FF just released 6
DD 1
Cap 1
2 new x-books coming in the next few weeks
Punisher
Thor's up to #3
I know there's more as well - silly comic companies.

Moon Knight was the other part of the DD and Punisher relaunch.

Other number 1s in the last year include
Avengers
New Avengers
Secret Avengers
Avengers Academy
Uncanny X-Force
Heroes For Hire
Herc
X-23
Daken:Dark Wolverine
Wolverine
Wolverine:The Best There Is
Iron Man 2.0
Ghost Rider
Alpha Flight(that might be a limited series though)
And that's not including the new ongoings that already got canned like Spider-Girl, Namor and the like.

I see the aftermath of Fear Itself is going to be called "Battle Scars."
So much for the bright optimism of "The Heroic Age." That lasted, what, seven months?

It's so fucking tiring. Seriously, just shut up & make comics. Is it that hard?

Well played, Ser. Well Played.
